Well, 365 days have gone around again. Time seems to pass faster each year. Did you know this is the year of the Chariot in tarot and the horse in Chinese astrology? Sounds to me like a lot of forward movement and change.
The Chariot card depicts a warrior in the driver’s seat with two sphinxes or horses, each facing a different direction. The warrior is in the driver’s seat and ready to move ahead. He seems to be in control. There are no reins implying that spiritual events are helping to steer the chariot into motion. The warrior will have to lead the horses by his voice and emotions. Did you know horses are very capable of judging how people feel? The warrior pauses to reflect on his passion and examines his life. By doing this, he recognizes his hopes and dreams. Knowing he will need to use both intellect (thoughts) and what is in his heart (passion) to succeed. He becomes determined to reach his goal. What goal in your life do you want to achieve? Have you reflected on who you are and what you can do? Are you in the driver’s seat of your life and dream? Perhaps this is the year for us to be focused on riding toward our dream.
Now, let us look at the Chinese symbol for the year, the Horse. We see an animal that has both fight and flight responses. Horses tend to react to their surroundings by a physical reaction depending on their emotional response to the fear at that moment. Often a horse will run when frightened. However, some may buck or react by standing on their haunches to kick their front feet. When faced with a fear, do you confront it head on or flee? In order to achieve the goal, one needs to embrace the fear and with steadfast determination proceed forward to the destination. Remember not to allow negative thoughts or emotions to distract us.
The numerology for the year 2014 is also very interesting. The number 2 represents balance and duality (like yin and yang) between relationship and harmony. Foremost, we must bring balance within ourselves in order to create harmony in our world. For when the relationship with our self is unbalanced, it will reflect around us in negative ways, such as addictions, like over eating, over drinking, unhealthy relationships, and becoming a doormat for many to walk on.
Zero indicates beginning or ending, alpha and omega, and limitless potential. The oval shape is symbolic of a seed, or egg from which pure potential can emerge and rebirth can happen. It also has mystery about it for we may not know what will spring from it. Zero is the fool card in tarot who walks ahead with innocence, free of fear. The idea is to go into the New Year with zero worries, no fears or insecurities and allow yourself to discover the adventures ahead with curiosity and wonderment.
One (1) represents new beginning, independence, singleness of purpose, positivity, start, solo, unity, and will. Definitely fitting when thinking about the New Year and wanting to move forward. In tarot, the Magician is the one who has all the tools and unites heaven and earth (as above so below). It is comforting to know that we have all the tools to begin this adventure and to choose how we use them. The Magician is a great communicator and has the confidence and the skills to be a master/ leader.
Four (4) is symbolic of security and stability. To have security or stability one needs to be grounded. It also represents endurance, physicality, and practicality, along with achievement. What makes you feel secure and stable? We need to have security and stability in our inner and outer environment to feel comfortable and safe. Do you have endurance to achieve your goal? For, if we achieve success we will have security.
Then adding the 2+0+1+4 together equals Seven. The numeral (7) is a mystical number symbolizing spirituality, psychic awareness, magic, mystery, enlightenment, understanding and healing. The chariot is the seventh card of the major arcana. Looks like 2014 is the year to acknowledge and share our spiritual gifts, along with our wisdom and knowledge. By using our gifts, one can gain wisdom and understanding of who he/she is. In addition, we honour our spiritual self and the right to do what we are here to do. In the Bible, God wants us to prosper in every way, along with our soul. Hear the call to board the chariot to advance toward your desired destination.
The message seems to be to decide what goal and direction one wants to take to utilize one’s spiritual gifts and accomplish ones calling. Goodbye typical resolutions like exercising, dieting, etc. Take a different perspective this year. Be in control and step beyond your limitations.
Let’s focus on our dream and allow SUCCESS into our life. Are you ready? I am. Questions you may consider… Do you want to be successful? So, what if success happens, then what? You will never know if you don’t try.
I know it takes courage, but you can do it. You are never too old to give success a chance. It takes more energy struggling than it takes to succeed. Success can be one of the biggest fears. If we were successful, we would have it all. Imagine money, love, happiness, joy and peace of mind. What a great way to start the New Year by allowing success into our life!
How, you say? The first step is looking at your relationship with success. Well, I personally would love to have success and be successful in what I love to do. However, am I doing what I love to do, and all that I am capable of doing? Am I using all of my spiritual gifts and tools? Like most people, if I was to answer right now honestly, the answer would be no.
Am I finding balance in my day to focus and honour that part of myself? One needs to look at what consumes their entire day. What part of the pie is the biggest regarding what you love to do and what you don’t? If you can’t change that at this moment of time try to find balance in some way to do what you love to do. When we honour ourselves and be honest with what brings us happiness and joy, we will feel more at peace. Know you are the only one responsible for your happiness and joy in life. This is not dependent upon the actions or thoughts of others. For how we look at life will reflect how we feel. Believe in yourself. From this day forward, make a pact with yourself to remember YOU. Ask yourself what is it you want? What makes ME happy? What brings joy to ME? The key to happiness rests in your hands. Is it ok to have everything one wants? Coming to terms with any fears regarding being successful, for many, this can be scary in different ways.
The second step is acting as if you are already successful. Fake it until you make it; old words of wisdom. Changing our mindset to being successful is what will bring this into our reality. Using the Law of attraction for when we elevate our energy to match what we are thinking and acting will bring it towards us. The beginning of the year is a great way to track the progress. Make this January the date for kick off. Congratulations, you have been gifted with knowledge and wisdom from life’s experiences. No excuse, it is your choice. Try it. Are you ready? Get set…. Go. What do you have to lose except failure or wondering what if I did?
“One cannot be prepared for something while secretly believing it will not happen.” ~ Nelson Mandela
Every time you find yourself thinking negatively, stop, delete, and change it to a positive. Or when words come out that are negative, stop and change the words to an affirmative sentence. If we spend our days with worries, fears and insecurities, anxiety, loneliness, or stress, then we will miss the moments of happiness and joy. Try finding more moments looking for the little joys in a day. It could be hearing your favourite song on the radio, having your favourite meal, putting on your favourite shirt, even doing what you love to do. The more we notice what makes us smile, the more our hearts will feel full.
Third, is putting you and your desires first. This may sound hard to do at first, try finding time for yourself. Have a relationship with yourself. Have you treated yourself with love and presents or have you only given to others? When you think about spending your day, do you consider time just for you? Many times, we can get busy with work, family, the to-do lists etc. and find we don’t have time for us. However, we are living in this life that is ours and why not make it for us at least one hour out of 24. Try looking at you as your new best friend. What would you do for your best friend? Would you drop everything to help someone to feel better? Each day, ask your new best friend what he/she would like. We do have a choice. When we have a solid partnership with our self, we will be able to have great relationships with others.
When we honour ourselves and be honest with what brings us happiness and brings us joy, we will feel more at peace. Know you are the only one responsible for your happiness and joy in life. It is not dependent upon the actions of others, or what others say. How we look at life will reflect how we feel. Believe in yourself. From this day forward, make a pact with yourself to remember YOU. Ask what does (your name) want? What makes “ME” happy? What brings joy to “me”? The key to happiness rests in your hand.
Fourth, trust that we will be stable and secure in our life is the greatest gift to have. Knowing that no matter what happens, we will be safe. Be secure in trusting all will be well and that God/ Goddess/Creator/Universe will be there for us. Hand over our worries and fears to the Angels to take care of them. Remembering we are safe and secure will bring stability to our world.
Having faith is very important in one’s life, whether it be religion or spirituality, listen to the spiritual wisdom we will hear as the days go by, knowledge we have gained through the years past and the lessons we have learned. Allow yourself to be touched by the spiritual gifts around you. In addition, honouring the spiritual gifts we have in each of us.
The Chariot requires looking at you and being confident in your abilities and expressing your wants and needs. Stay focused on the goal ahead. Have faith in yourself and the willpower to be successful. This is the year to fulfill your dreams and desires. You are on the road to success. Happy adventures on your journey to success!
