th day, you are handed back a beautiful, thriving plant. The thing is, this blossoming being is likely returning to the same environment from whence it came. Of course, the plant doc has given you instructions about its care and feeding. Perhaps you heard and took heed and put the plant near a sunlit window, talked to it nicely, watered and fertilized it and perhaps even doused it with Miracle Grow. If that’s the case, then it is likely to thrive. On the flip side, what if you didn’t pay heed to the instructions and put it right back where it was, gave it no more attention than before, let it sit and gather dust? You know the inevitable outcome. The same is true for our own self-care, whether it is after discharge from such a setting or when desiring any kind of positive transformation. As the adage goes: “Nothing changes if nothing changes.” I am grateful to be a privileged listener and take in people’s ‘once upon a times,’ as the repository for a piece of their souls. Views:]]>
