In the U.S. we celebrate Independence Day on July 4. Traditionally this celebration goes back to the American Revolution. It’s a national holiday and it’s generally celebrated with family get-togethers, parades, concerts, fireworks and fun! As I write this column, my daughter is practicing patriotic songs on her flute for the high school marching band 4th of July parade. I thought since this month is all about independence, I would provide Feng Shui tips and angelic information to create an independent life for you and your family!
Financial Independence
There will be a full moon on July 3 at 2:52pm EDT in the U.S. This is the time to release what no longer serves you. Go within and discover any energetic blocks you may have to financial freedom. Blocks are very common. Write them down on a piece of paper. When the moon is full go outside and burn the paper with the intention that these blocks have been released. Affirm that there are only positive thoughts remaining and let the Universe take care of everything! Here are more tips to create Financial Independence with Feng Shui:
• This is a great time to clean and de-clutter your home. Take a look at that stack of papers and you might just find a check you forgot to cash!
• Don’t put off any situation that needs to be resolved. If it’s a friendship that has dissolved, bless the situation and move on. Ask AA Michael to give you strength and courage. If you need to forgive someone, do it now! I know it’s hard to do. Accept the lesson and move on. When you wish the person well, you’ll gain a good flow of Chi energy for new and wonderful things to come into your life. This will also open up the flow of energy to improve your financial situation.
• If you have a Buddha statue that you use for drawing in abundance, place it outside during the full moon. It will absorb the powerful moonlight. The next morning bring the statue inside and place it on a table so it faces the front door. A Buddha or other religious/deity statue must always be at least 2’ – 4’ higher than the floor to show respect. When you open the front door to let in the good Chi, Buddha will be there to infuse it with abundance.
• You can also light a candle and meditate on your wishes. Set the intention that your wishes have already been gratefully received, and then blow out the candle.
• Visualize yourself writing checks and seeing that you still have a large sum left over. Visualize yourself getting a raise or making an important sale.
• Place your crystals outside in the full moonlight. This will energize them so they’ll bring you good luck, better health and abundance when you wear them or use them.
• If you’re a woman and want financial independence, Feng Shui says to put 3 pots of rosemary on a windowsill in your kitchen. Rosemary was used for healing and abundance and also in wedding ceremonies back in the Middle Ages. It represented love and good luck for the couple. It is said that a woman who grew rosemary abundantly in her yard, would ‘rule the roost’ in a household. Tend to these plants well and abundance, independence and maybe even marriage will be yours.
• Give thanks for all the blessings in your life and say a prayer for others who may be struggling financially.
New Moon Abundance Ritual
The new moon will be on July 19 at 12:24 am EDT. Here is the abundance spiritual technique that I mention every month on my Facebook page! Take a check from your checkbook. Where it says, “Pay to”, write your name. In the box where you would fill in the dollar amount, write “Paid in Full.” On the line under your name, write “Paid in Full”. Sign the check from “The Law of Abundance.” Put this in a safe place and forget about it until the next new moon. Put your faith and trust in the Universe to stimulate the financial flow. If you don’t have a checking account, you can always draw a check and follow the same instructions.
Raising Independent Children
I have performed numerous Feng Shui consultations in homes with children. With teenagers, I always ask permission to enter their bedroom because I know their privacy is very important. Younger children have different issues; from not sleeping to misbehaving. Yes parents, Feng Shui can help you with kids and teens! We need to raise happy, healthy and independent children so they will become strong and confident adults. Here’s how you can help your children right now!
• Feng Shui suggests the child sleep in a bedroom at the front of the home. Energetically this encourages independence because the parents’ bedroom should be located at the back.
• Keep the room tidy. Clutter has a negative effect on every aspect of a child’s life. Use storage boxes but never put them under the bed. Chi needs to circulate around a sleeping child for rest and nourishment of their body.
• Remove or donate clothing, toys and books they have outgrown from their bedroom. Feng Shui says it will keep them stuck in childhood. It can also impede physical and mental growth.
• The headboard of the bed should be on a solid wall which encourages security, confidence and independence.
• If you have bunk beds, oops it’s a Feng Shui no-no! The belief is that it will drain a child’s energy and stunt mental growth. If you cannot remove them, hang a faceted crystal above both the upper and lower bunk to disperse energy that can become stagnant. Your children need every opportunity for growth.
• When your child receives an award, hang it in a red metal frame in the middle of the back wall of the bedroom. This will build their confidence, increase recognition and they will feel more independent.
Develop Social Independence
All people want the good things in life; money, health, love, a great job, a family and friends. This is all wonderful but I believe at the core, we desire respect and confidence. These two emotions have an affect on everything we do in life and it influences our level of independence. If we don’t feel confident, we won’t look for that amazing job, or even try to find the great guy/gal to share our life. We won’t take on anything that challenges us or apply at the college of our dreams. Lack of confidence keeps us at a stand-still. If we don’t have confidence and respect for ourselves, how can we earn the same from others? Use the Bagua map to find the area of your home that will support your goals and dreams. Set intentions for whatever you desire and boost your Chi with Feng Shui!
• Want more confidence? Focus on what feeds your soul. When you find the job, volunteer work, etc that makes you happy – do it! If you feel stuck, talk with your angels and ask for guidance. There is a saying, “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” Taking small steps will increase your confidence to take bigger steps. Feeling confident and independent is the foundation for a great social life.
• Need better finances? Enhance your wealth area (far left corner of your home) with a water fountain, fresh green plants, gemstones, etc. Get the good Chi flowing into your front door to nourish and support you.
• Want more people to notice you? Do something outstanding in your community or at work. Hang up the award, newspaper article, or the boss’s email in your Fame/Reputation area (center back of your home or office). People will notice you and your honest, hard-working reputation will soar.
• Are you an independent strong business woman looking for a strong masculine man? When you date, let him sit at the ‘command position’ (his back against the wall) at the table and let him order the food and drinks. You can make suggestions but step back and let him lead. You don’t have to give away your power Super Woman, just use it wisely!
