Dear Agony Aunt, I have been working in my current position for just over a year now. Overall, I am fine and have moved into a comfortable, know and like my routine etc., and in general, it is a stress free situation. I am just not sure if I should stay or look for something better. There is one person in particular who does not show me the respect I deserve, and I believe I can earn more money and make an upward move. Everyone else there seems great. What do you think? Am I best at looking for a better opportunity to present itself, or should I stay where I am, and if so, how long do you think I will be employed in this current job? I’m thinking if I do make a move or should be at the start of the summer or in early September. Thank you! In light, Ausga Dear Ausga, Thank you for reaching out with your problem, Here is my message. This job is great for your peace of mind. The person who challenges and disrespects you is jealous. They feel you are more in favor with management than they are. In actual fact, this is true because you are good at your job and have fantastic people skills. Use them on this person. Reassure them that you are a friend, not their enemy. You could move jobs in the autumn, but will not find a better working environment. Any extra salary would be spent on ways to de-stress outside of work! Next time you have a meeting or appraisal, see where you stand for a promotion and extra money. You may be pleasantly surprised at what is on offer where you are now. Much love, Elaine (Agony Aunt) Views:]]>
