He is a beacon of light, a soldier who takes a bullet for you, your protector in the night. He gives you courage, stamina, and strength when you feel that you cannot go on. I cannot put into words or express how encompassing and expansive Archangel Michael is when you yourself are in a crisis. My Archangel Michael is surprisingly my brother, Mikal. My mother, Elizabeth decided on the unique spelling of his name. This story is dedicated to him since Mikal just turned fifty last month. He has been an instrument in my life as a baby brother, to have held my hand, helped me out when I was in a financial crisis from my divorce, and has been a sounding board whenever I needed someone to talk to. What stands out the most for me is when I was hurt on the set from a freak accident. I had been a Stand In for Kids on a feature film in 2004. I remember the day clearly; I was so happy to be on the set and was so glad to be working. The 2nd team was called by the AD. The camera and lighting crew needed us. I hurriedly flew like I normally do, with haste quickly walking. Out of nowhere, I was struck in the forehead, just right above my right eye. I flew back and landed on the ground. Blood was gushing all over me; I was dazed and very confused. I mentally could not comprehend what had happened to me. The crew milled around me. I was picked up and brought over to the medic on the set. An ambulance was called and I was rushed to Simi Valley Hospital where I waited in emergency for eight hours. Finally Mikal showed up, he had been working and did not know I had been hurt. A plastic surgeon stitched me up from my head injury and I was sent home. I had a throbbing headache and really did not know the severity of my head injury. I insisted on getting my car, which had been parked at the location of the set. I did not want to leave it there over night. Mikal took me to the set and followed me home in my car. When the headaches started to come frequently, my head really hurt badly. He would console me and tell me that I would be okay. I was told that I would never ever be able to work again, by the neurosurgeon. I started to pray and ask Archangel Michael, to help me. How could I get rid of these darn headaches? He instructed me to drive to the beach which was forty-five minutes from where I lived and walk on the beach. The ocean air would heal me. He gave me the courage when I was so weak to walk two hours a day to get stronger. Every day I drove to Rincon and walked. Finally, after two months, I returned to the feature film. The crew could not believe that I was back. They were really quite frankly shocked. I said it was my faith in God and Archangel Michael who helped me get well. The camera operator showed me the fiberglass slate, a quarter of a piece of it had been broken off from the impact of my fall. I still had no idea what had hit me from the day of the injury. I gasped because I could not believe that I survived the accident. So I ask you, if you are ever in a crisis mode, if someone comes out of nowhere to rescue you from a car accident or you survive an unexplainable event, Archangel Michael is by your side to protect you, give you encouragement and a will to live.
