Aquarius, the 11th sign in the zodiac, is represented by The Water Carrier/Bearer. This is a Fixed Air Sign which falls between Jan 21- Feb 21. Being a Fixed Air sign is sort of an oxymoron as air is free flowing and is, well, fixed. Some refer to Aquarians as having a fixed opinion and stubborn ideas. Yet the combination of the two means the Aquarius has an inspiration of will. Ruled by the planets of Saturn and Uranus, this is quite the combination. Uranus is the planet of unexpected events, sudden revelations and chaos. If you’ve been around an Aquarius, all three will most likely occur. Saturn is the planet of wisdom and known as the teacher. Both fitting for the Aquarian as the Water Carrier is a ball full of unanticipated mayhem and mishap, yet despite that, will somehow make things work out. If you know an Aquarian you already know that planning is not their thing, forgetting is more like it and disorganized is most likely their middle name. As fun and energetic as they can be, watch out for the unexpected wicked tone they take when they don’t like what they hear. The word Aquarius comes from the Latin word “aqua” meaning water. Aquarians are inspirational, visionary and humanitarian. They are known as the bohemian of the all the zodiac signs due to their willingness to try anything, go anywhere, help anyone without prejudice. Aquarians aim for truth, and cultivate warmth with strong belief in principals yet are non-conformists. A very independent sign, the soul of the Aquarian is meant to teach others with their caring, thoughtful, and inventive ways. As a true humanitarian, fairness is important to them. However, desiring their space, being detached, quite stubborn, uncertain, disorganized and insecure may get in their way of achievements. Many Aquarians can be cold and aloof, but don’t take that personally because they do love all equally. Essential Oils For Aquarius Neroli (Citrus aurantium var. amara) also called Orange Blossom and has a sweet citrus yet floral aroma that is hypnotic and sensual. Its aroma is peaceful, loving and spiritual, bringing those closer to their higher selves, building confidence. Often associated with the fire element of astrology Neroli introduces the Aquarian to its red hot passionate side. Neroli oil is produced from steam distilling freshly picked flowers of the Citrus auranrium plant. This is a very expensive essential oil. It has a floral top note that is powerful and often used in perfume. Neroli is a good choice to soothe an agitated Aquarius. The radiant aroma helps promote clarity in their chaotic life, bringing them closer with their higher self. A free spirit who does not conform is one who will benefit from Pine (Pinus sylvestris) essential oil. Pine encourages confidence, perseverance, trust and direction. Just look at a Pine tree, it stands tall with tenacity and poise, providing an aroma with the same and brings this energy to anyone who inhales it. Pinus sylvestris energy is about humanity, wisdom and presence, like that of an Aquarian. Its clean, crisp aroma is stimulating. The essential oil is from steam distillation of the needles, cones and young branches of the pine tree. If negative thoughts plague an Aquarian, the aroma of Pine clears away those thoughts and promotes self esteem. Aquarians air quality can get in the way of their focus. Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) essential oil has an aroma that is penetrating and stimulating. Often used in aromatherapy for mental fatigue, confusion and forgetfulness. The rosemary essential oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves and flowers of the Rosmarinus officinalis evergreen shrub. Considered to have a top-middle note in perfumery, its scent is herb like, strong and clean. The energy of the rosemary oil is invigorating, it gets the Qi (chi) flowing. It also has a youthful vibe that’s sensitive and creative. Rosemary encourages concentration, stability and confidence. If we are ever feeling lost in life, this essential oil may help us remember who we are. Fun Fact: Jennifer Aniston is an Aquarius.
