Are you Buying Twitter Followers and Facebook Fans? If so, Understand there is a Huge Cost. What people really want is a huge following on their social media platforms. Whether they want a lot of followers on Twitter or fans on their Facebook page, they want to look like they are popular so therefore, they are tempted to make their fan or following base large. Unfortunately, many online companies make this very easy by offering services where they sell Twitter followers or Facebook fans. I am saying unfortunately because most of what they sell are fake fans and followers. Even if they say they are genuine, chances are they are not. It is not too difficult to find out if someone has a large fake following or if the majority of their followers are bots. Once that is discovered, the person who bought the bots will not be respected at all. Buying fake connections is a form of gaming, which I will talk more about in a future article. However, any form of gaming or black hat tactics are manipulative and not genuine. How is it Discovered That Someone Has a Large Number of Fake Followers? It is very easy to know. There are two main ways you can figure out if someone has a lot of bots attached to their accounts or if they have real followers.
- A Large Following and Little Interaction. Think about this. Someone has a large following however the ironic thing is that none of them are interacting with that individual’s tweets or Facebook updates. Not every follower will be interactive and engaging with every tweet you put out. However, doesn’t it look fishy if you have 2000 followers and none of your tweets are retweeted? If this is consistently happening, then this is a sure sign that this is a case where a bunch of followers were bought instead of being attracted.
- There are tools anyone can use to find out how many fake, inactive and good followers someone has. There is one that a lot of people rely on called Status People, however it is not that accurate. A much better one is called Social Baker’s Followers Check and this tells you right there the quality of someone’s followers. Another great thing about Social Baker’s is that you have an option to block and remove fakes. With these tools out, it is very easy to see who is genuine and who isn’t.
- Retweet, Mention and Favorite Them– They will appreciate it more than you realize. Twitter chats are a good way to find followers by interacting with them. However, a more effective approach is to do a hashtag search on a keyword that is relevant to your niche. You will find many Twitter users discussing interesting things in relation to what you are looking for. Retweet them, favorite them, and even mention them by replying to what they said. Be consistent with this, the majority of them will follow you in a heartbeat.
- Tweet their Articles or Blog Posts– Do a Google or Bing search on anything to do with your niche and you will find many blog posts written up by others. Be sure you tweet out the ones that you find interesting, and make sure that the users’ Twitter handles are in the tweet or else they will not know that you retweeted them. You can easily find their handle by doing a search through Twitter on their name. Make sure you add via @twitteruser in the tweet. Many times however, if you tweet out an article or blog post written by someone, their handle is already there by default. They will be very appreciative of that- and most of the time will follow you.
