Claire is not only funny but she is also kind, warm, and caring. It is easy to see why her fans fall in love with her all over again each week on her Blog Talk radio program. She stated, “Well, I go on the air and at first I start off by talking about my latest news and get the audience in a good frame of mind. I use humor to warm them up. I open up ALL the phone lines; there has been upward of 40 or more callers all at one time!” She is able to handle all of the callers answering their questions with compassion. When it comes to message delivery she takes her abilities seriously. Claire takes the time to connect with her callers giving special messages to those that need it the most. Once the readings are completed, the funny Claire comes back out to play bringing joy and laughter to her captivated audience. “Claire is contagious,” states one of her listeners, “All it takes is one time listening to her, and then you’re hooked!”
Ask anybody who is the funniest lady in the metaphysical world and most likely they will say Claire Braddock. Her unique personality definitely makes her one of a kind. Beautiful, zany, outrageous and quick witted only begins to describe her. She makes YouTube videos for her fans to delight, amuse and tickle their funny bone. Her sense of humor combines the 1910 classic form of physical comedy, also known as slapstick, and adds the 1930’s style of screwball comedy. It definitely works for her! Claire states, “I have a few focuses and goals in my life, the first one being my son, he comes first, Secondly is laughter. I make sure I have humor and laughter in my life. Without that you cannot manifest other positive things in your life.”
Claire grew up like any other American child. She had loving parents, went to school, had friends, and was a beautiful, outgoing little girl. She recalls
at the age of 4 the family moving into a beautiful 1885 home which housed other families throughout the generations. Her mother was a 6th generation Scottish psychic and life in her home was a little different than most of her friends. They were very active and loved life. “The home had numerous spirits and was a very active” she said,” Being that I was only 4 at the time of the move I was not able to decipher between the living and the dead.
Claire paused as she began to scan her thoughts. She recalled the first time she experienced anything paranormal. “I remember when my parents would host these big costume parties and they would play music and spend time dancing. Everyone would dress up in these elaborate period clothing costumes.” Her first recollection was a time when she ran up to her mother and started to describe a person she had seen in the home in period clothing during one of the parties. Her mother calmly explained that the person she saw was not a guest at the party. This person was in spirit and didn’t have a body anymore. Unlike most other children that may experience ghostly activity, it didn’t scare or even faze her because it was normal. Very soon on, she realized that not all people could see the spirit bodies who came to visit her home because her mother helped her identify her abilities as young as when she was a toddler.
Still living in the beautiful old home around the third grade, Claire recalls her interaction with a shy spirit person on a regular basis. The boy was a slim handsome young teenager who wore a high school football uniform that seemed to be the type of jersey worn in the early days of football. Because she was so young she described him as looking to be the same age as one of her father’s friends. Claire remembers visits by the boy in her bedroom. “He used to come to me a lot and he also visited my little brother, but not as much.” Claire then began to get emotional, “Give me just a minute,” she choked back her emotions, her voice shook and she continued on. “Give me just a minute, bear with me here.” Claire took in a long pausing breath and then let out a heavy sigh as she finished her thoughts. “So, he had died in my room. I had the bedroom that he had crossed over in and that was why he had come to me; he was in high school.” After several visits Claire brought the boy to the attention to her parents. She had described his uniform and the details of his features. Her brother also confirmed that the boy had been to visit him as well. After she and her brother had talked to her mother about the football player, her mother decided to do some research on the previous home residents. She wanted to validate what they had been experiencing. At dinner one night as they sat down to eat her mother told her the Story of Acton, who was a young high school football player back in the early 1900’s. Claire remembers her mother saying something about the helmets or the lack there of. Acton had received a serious concussion while on the football field. He felt fine shortly after arriving home. Sadly, later that night he died in his room. Claire was finally able to put a name to her spirit friend. Her mother showed her a photograph of Acton, “It was like she was showing me a photo of a person I had already known.” Acton continues to be around Claire. He is with her at all the time.
When Claire had reached middle school up into her high school years, her mother encouraged her to invite her friends over to her home and allowed Claire to share her gifts. She said that she would give tarot card readings and held mini séances using a homemade Ouija board made out of a steel suitcase, a storm window, and a shot glass. She also learned very early on how to protect herself spiritually and rarely had to ask her parents for assistance. Claire’s friends never ridiculed her. She has never been outcast or ostracized. She says, “People were drawn to me. It all happened without me having to say I see dead people, I see spirits, or I live in a haunted house.” Claire continued, “It’s like the other children knew there was something different about me. They were the ones who kept approaching me. I think it was because it was coming from a place of light that people were drawn to me. It was random ever since I was little; I attract people who want to talk to me about their problems and my gifts were used and enhanced. They just knew I could help them. They wanted to get involved and experiment with hypnosis, tarot cards, and the Ouija board. It’s weird, it still happens. Out of nowhere strangers on the street will come up to me and start telling me their issues. I feel Spirit is directing them to me.”
Claire left her childhood home as an adult moving 300 miles away. She continues to use her gifts today to help others who reach out to her for help. Claire’s life changed dramatically when she met a person with whom she had a soul connection who still remains her best friend. She says, “I met Nancy at a Lammas Celebration in August of 2004, and believe it or not, I met her daughter Julie before I met her mom. Julie had died that June of lupus just weeks prior to my meeting Nancy. If we are lucky in our lifetime, we will find that one special person we have a beautiful soul connection with. The words go much deeper than just a best friend.”
Claire shared the story that has since changed her life forever. She recalled a beautiful fall day in August. The air was warm and the sun shone brightly overhead. It was the annual Lammas celebration in the Pagan community. Lammas, also called Lughnasadh, falls at the beginning of the harvest season. It is the first of the three autumn harvest festivals, the other two being the Autumn Equinox (also called Mabon by Wiccans) and Samhain. The Lammas celebration symbolizes that apples are ready for harvest and grain is beginning to ripen.
Claire had worked hard to make that year’s event a success. It was a time for her and everyone to come together and celebrate. Claire paused a moment to collect her thoughts. She then began to tell the beautiful story of how two souls connected and formed a very special bond that would last a lifetime. “I was sitting down enjoying the festival when a woman sat down beside me. We began to chat and after introductions, Nancy then talked about her daughter Julie, who had died at age 23 just a month before.” Claire began to console the grieving woman when suddenly, as they locked eyes; they both knew something was different and so very special. Nancy reached out her hands to Claire. She safely held 2 beautiful chalices and some scrap material used to cloak a deck of cards. She held out the items that were precious and dear to her heart and said, “I want you to have these; they belonged to Julie.” Claire looked into Nancy’s eyes and they both knew that this was supposed to be. Holding back the tears, Claire’s voice shook as she spoke, “I wasn’t sure if I heard that just right. Did she say these belonged to her daughter who had just died and she wants me to have them? Is this happening?” Claire graciously accepted. Nancy knew she was to meet a special person that day and was to give that person these sacred items. She recognized that Claire was that person.
Strangely enough, Claire had met Julie on the other side before ever meeting Nancy. Claire also felt that a special person would soon be in her life in
relation to Julie. From that day forward the two have been best friends. Later, Nancy selflessly gave Claire Julie’s favorite stuffed animal. Claire was having some difficult times and Nancy knew it. She accepted the generous gift and to this day she sleeps with Julie’s precious floppy eared dog. She holds him every night when she goes to bed. When asked how she felt while snuggling Julie’s dog, Claire spoke in an almost childlike voice and said, “I hold him every night when I go to bed. He has a cigarette burn on his belly and I have to hold him a certain way. I feel safe when I hold him. I am in a good happy place and I feel nothing can harm or hurt me. I can’t sleep without him.”
When Claire travels, she never forgets to take Julie’s old well loved dog
along with her. Cradled in her arms, she strolls through the airport with Julie’s red companion, now as her own, to ensure a restful night’s sleep no matter where she goes.
Today, Claire enjoys life to the fullest making laughter one of her top priorities.
