is the relationship with your clan? Do you feel a part of your tribe? One can be surrounded by family and yet can still feel alone. Are you receiving what you need from them? Are you receptive to receiving, as well as giving, in a relationship? Many times, we tend only to be givers. This can interfere with receiving love and feeling secure. Or maybe there are some relationships that we would be best to drop reminiscent of the leaves at time of year. One basic survival need is food, for without food we would starve. Harvest time is when we celebrate Thanksgiving, which is giving thanks and sharing with the tribe what you have harvested. Even the squirrels are busy scampering around gathering nuts and things to bury in the ground so that they will have enough food stored for the winter. Speaking about Harvest, root veggies are great for energizing this first chakra. Another interesting fact is that red stimulates the appetite and in autumn we tend to eat more as well. What are you hungry for, is there something missing within you or your life? Are you paying attention to your body and its needs? At this time of the year, we start to return into our homes the place where we dwell. Does your foundation feel solid? Are you grounded? Home is often where we put our roots down which can give us a sense of security. How secure and stable do you feel in the areas of your life? Is there an area that is rocky or shaky, or perhaps falling apart? Is it due to fear or is it causing fear? The base chakra is where fear is often hidden. Does fear of survival nip at your heels? Can you dissect this fear and consider letting go of it? For holding on to one’s fears can hinder us from moving forward in life. Like the leaves dropping from the branches, perhaps you can release your fear to the Universe. By doing this, we can take the steps to our dreams and stand tall in actually living the life we want and desire. Seems like autumn is the season to connect to our roots and our basic survival needs in many ways. The colour red is not only associated with hunger, but anger and passion. This colour can also spark a fire within. What are you passionate about? Do you allow your passion to flourish? Yet, for some people, too much fire can ignite anger. Do you have some suppressed anger deep inside that is stopping you from opening your heart fully and living a life of happiness and joy? Nature wants us to add stability and security to our physical world and embrace its warmth. In managing this, let the fears fall away and enjoy the abundance in one’s life. Orange, being the sacral chakra, is emotion, creativity, sexuality and birthing. This is the chakra where the sexual organs and the womb is located. We all know how the menstrual cycle and our appetite for sex are affected by our emotions. In addition, our creativity can be blocked by the emotions too. Orange is a very creative colour, positive and welcoming, and inspires us to enjoy life. Discover your creative spirit. Where are those creative moments for you? What have you given birth to this year? Is there something you would like to create? Let this month to be a time to honour your creativity. Take some time to be creative. Draw, write, etc. You are the artist here. Feel your creative juices flow. This is your life. Allow the colour orange to bring a positive burst into your autumn. Now let’s examine the next hue of this colourful time of year. Yellow, being the solar plexus, is the personal power Center, will and willpower and how we personally express ourselves out into the world. This colour can be very sunny and bright, or golden like the rods of hay. Yellow is associated with the Sun. This bright ball is fiery and strong, it has the power to control the world and the light within it. In autumn, the days are getting shorter as darkness crimps up to balance the hours of each day. When this happens many feel the effect of less daylight hours as tiredness and depression. Perhaps the yellow is trying to remind us to be happy and shine like the sun. When it shines fully, it brings pleasure and warmth to many. Are you feeling depressed and tired? Do you need more yellow in your life? Do you allow others to take control of your life? This may be a needed reminder to take one’s power back and be in command of one’s existence. This colour can reflect the power of allowing one’s self to shine brightly and be seen. How have you personally expressed yourself to everyone around you? When the solar plexus chakra is balanced, there can be a feeling of inner peace and happiness. Are you experiencing inner peace in your life? The solar plexus is often referred to as where the soul lives. When I think of the soul, it can bring to mind the colour gold. The soul is the essence of who you are. In October, we celebrate Halloween, the time many wear costumes. These costumes are worn to disguise who we are. Often in life, we tend to wear masks to hide who we are, too. What masks do you wear to hide behind? Are you ready to remove that mask? Not all costumes are disguises, sometimes we put on a costume to try to portray someone we want to be. What role would you like to embrace as a part of you? There is a saying “Fake it until you make it.” Maybe you can try to play this role until you actually incorporate the personality into your persona. The whole goal in life is to be that person you are meant to be. The true you. Find the strength and courage to express your authentic self to the world. Be who you are and stand up for what you think and desire. Where there is a will, there is a way. You can do it. You can achieve your goal and be your true self. Taking a cue from Nature, let’s remember the balance of this season, too. There is a lot of beauty apparent to the sights and smells of this time year. Trees clothed in these beautiful shades. As we enter the doors, our nose catch the scent of pies and the aroma of spices waffling from the kitchen. The glow from the logs in the fireplace warming up the room. The many vegetables and fruits adding colour to the table. Autumn harvest brings many blessings of abundance to our senses. Take a moment and look at what abundance does this season bring to you. How abundant do you feel? What are you grateful for in your life? Spend time giving gratitude for what your life has given you and is continuing to give. Cheers to being alive and the gifts we have. Looks like autumn and its colours are painting a deeper message than the eyes can see. I hope it has given you a whole new view. Let’s connect to the colours and the adjoining chakras and receive the true beauty of this colourful season. Embrace the autumn of you! Views:]]>
