It’s June! It’s a month for fresh starts and new beginnings with graduations and weddings. This month we also celebrate Father’s Day. June can be an exciting and active month as it brings us Yang (strong fire) energy. Just think of the warmer days to come, the flowers blooming, birds singing, and cleaning out the closets. I admit this is not my favorite activity! In Feng Shui, when we donate or discard items we no longer need, we make way for new opportunities in life. So clearing the clutter is a good thing! Call upon Archangel Jophiel, the Feng Shui Angel, to help you clear and beautify your space. If you feel an attachment to older items but you know they need to be released, call upon Archangel Michael. Ask him to use his sword to help you ‘cut away’ any attachments. The angels do inspire us to create change. In turn, these changes help to raise our own energetic vibration.
I am thrilled to be this month’s featured Psychic and Healer for the ‘Guardians of Time’ Bellesprit Magazine 2013 Calendar! I am offering reduced fees for a 2 question angel card reading and a one question Feng Shui mini-consult, both via email for your convenience. Feel free to visit the Services page of www.Phoenixholisticservices.com to order.
Celebrate the New Moon on June 8 at 11:59AM (EDT). Increase your abundance and gratitude with a Feng Shui ritual! Set clear intentions and write a list of 10 wishes in red ink on a piece of paper. Place them in a red envelope and put it inside your pillowcase. The energy of the color red will activate your wishes! Sleep on it until the next new moon. You can also increase your finances using one of your own checks. Write your name where it says “Pay To”. Where you fill in and write a dollar amount, write “Paid in Full.” Then sign the check from “The Law of Abundance” and put it in a safe place. This Feng Shui ritual allows you to notice every daily gift, big or small, and to express gratitude.
In the U.S. we celebrate Father’s Day on the 16th. Remember dear old dad, someone who is like a father to you or a favorite male friend. My own dad passed many years ago and I miss him. I talk to him often and say a prayer so he is never forgotten. Using the Feng Shui Bagua, the area related to male and yang (strong) energy is Helpful People. This area is located at the right front of your home as you enter. The element is Metal and the colors are gray, silver or black. To enhance the Metal of this area, add a round silver bowl or metal wind chimes. Besides masculine energy, this area symbolizes Heaven, authority and leadership. If you know any strong male that fits this description, you might want to place a picture of him, with intention, in this area. You can honor dad by displaying a memento of a happy time together. For dad’s business success place a statue of a Jade horse, Chinese lucky coins or a bamboo plant with this intention. If your relationship is less than idyllic, place items that will encourage open communication and improve the relationship. Since Heaven is represented, this is a good place to display angel statues or any religious articles you favor, crystals and gemstones. Personally I have angel statues in every room of my home!
The Summer Solstice is celebrated in the Northern Hemisphere at 1:04 AM (EDT) on the 21st. Since ancient times, the solstice has been celebrated around the world as a day of healing and fertility. Herbs and flowers picked on this day are said to contain more powerful healing energy than at any other time. This is the day when Mother Earth is drawn towards the sun causing the longest day and the shortest night of the year. It is typically the hottest day of the year. In Feng Shui we are entering the Fire element season. It’s a good day to open the windows letting in the sunlight and a breeze to celebrate the solstice. Go outside and enjoy the warm weather activities or sit quietly, meditate, or review the goals from earlier this year. If you’re not feeling fulfilled, change your plans! Do you still have fall and winter décor items in your home? They represent the Fire element! Now is the time to change things and cool off your home and yourself. Here’s how:
- Add a water fountain (the sound can lower your body temperature)
- Remove an abundance of items in the colors of red, orange or strong yellow
- Remove candles and triangular shaped objects that represent fire
- Keep your home clutter free to allow the air to circulate
- Change your décor to lighter colored fabrics in soft blues, greens or yellow
- Change your artwork to represent summertime or include flowers
- Eat lighter and healthier meals
- Drink more fluids, especially water to stay hydrated
- Wear light-colored and light-weight clothing
- Plant an herb or flower garden
- Consider creating your own ritual for the solstice
Celebrate the Full Strawberry Moon on the 23rd at 7:33AM (EST). This moon was named by the U.S. Native American Algonquin tribe. They knew it was a sign to start picking the ripe fruit. In Europe this moon is often called the Full Rose Moon. It’s a great time to cleanse your crystals by placing them outside or on a windowsill in the full moon light. You can also place a bowl of water with essential oils (I like lavender and rose oil) in the moon light. It will be charged and you can pour it into a spray bottle and perform a Feng Shui house cleansing the next morning. Remember to set an intention and invite the angels in when you cleanse and bless your home. This is also a perfect night to release what no longer serves your best and highest good. Write down a list of things you want to be free of and take it outside to burn it. Let the ashes blow your cares away! Archangel Haniel will help you to release the old. While you’re outside, don’t forget to ‘plant’ your bare feet in Mother Earth and ask for some grounding too! With an active month like June you just might need it!
Did you know that you can use Feng Shui principles in your garden? This increases your sense of well-being, happiness and gardens also add uplifting energy to your outdoor space. If your only available space is a deck, you can still add a water fountain and some pretty flowers! It doesn’t matter what size garden you have, it can still be inviting and attract good Chi energy. Just use the Bagua map to locate each area and find the element it represents. In either the Career, Family, or Wealth areas you can place a water fountain. In the Children/Creativity area, consider displaying a round or dome shaped metal sculpture. If you choose to create a more Zen-like garden, just add some rocks in a pleasing pattern for the Earth element. Wind chimes come in metal or wood so just pick the sound that’s soothing to you. A curved pathway through the garden is preferable to a straight one. Add some lighting and a bird feeder or bird bath in the Wealth area to bring in some healthy Chi. Animals add natural energy to any space! Don’t forget to plant a healthy herb garden!
You can also use flowers in the colors of the Bagua. Red or purple flowers support the Fame and Wealth area. Pink or white flowers work well in the Relationship and Children/Creativity areas. Bamboo or lush green plants are perfect for the Family area along with blue flowers for Knowledge and Wisdom. Add sweet yellow flowers in the center for the Earth element. Find a comfortable place to entertain, watch butterflies or relax and meditate. Drink in the beauty of the flowers and feel the peace and harmony of your garden. It really is a beautiful extension of our home. You might even attract some elementals or fairies to your garden!
The Archangels of June are Zadkiel (Gemini) and Gabriel (Cancer). Depending on your birth sign you can ask them for guidance in anything. Remember that once we ask, we need to release it and let the angels work on our situation! The powerful Archangel of Summer is Uriel. His name means “The Light of God.” He brings divine light into your life. His aura color is yellow and his gemstone is amber. Call upon him when you need a bright idea or insight. AA Uriel also helps with good communications, writing, speaking and taking tests. Tell your kids and teens to call upon him when taking their school finals! Thank the angels for watching over you, your family and your home!
