How many times have you thought “If I only knew then what I know now”? How often have you wondered if you had the information that you needed to make wise choices along the way? Have you ever wished you could get some help or glimpse into the future to know what to do or what path to stay away from? I know that I have asked these questions along the way in my path. Often times, when people look to a ‘forecast,’ they will read over things and then just let it go. As for me, I like to mark my calendar so that I have notes of what to pay attention to along the way; and as things come up, I can glance over what is at hand. Now, for many, they may let this run or direct their life for them. However, for me, I see this as more of a guide that helps me make wiser decisions. Information, even that which seems ‘scary’ is not there to psyche us out or lead us to create something unfavorable; but to give us the opportunity to act wisely in each given moment. Foresight can be a very powerful tool for us when implemented well. The more I work with Code Interpretation, the more I am able to operate with foresight. It allows me to make wiser decisions in the moment. I relate this greatly to knowing what the weather is likely to do, or knowing what is happening with the traffic or road conditions before driving somewhere or taking a trip. As we do this with our own life, it is like knowing how to avoid heavy traffic, or being able to travel when the weather is good, instead of running head on into a Tornado or Blizzard. It is like looking up to see what the weather will be like when taking a trip so that you know what clothes to pack. After all, we don’t say “oh no, it is going to rain today therefore I am going to get into an accident,” instead we leave ourselves extra time to get where we are going and re-route to the streets that won’t flood. It is the end of the year; and the start of a new one coming in. I will be looking at how each month is coded and what we are likely to have to work with. What are my resources and what challenges am I likely to need to maneuver around? Like looking at a hike, and getting an idea of the terrain and how much time it is going to take, and knowing others that are going with me and what their capabilities are. Now, each of us also has our own personal flow in any given year, and our own personalized set of challenges and tools to work with. However, understanding the ‘general’ patterns is also important because these are the ones that people will be influenced by, it is the general theme, so to say. Like going to a Renaissance Faire – there will be many with long dresses and dressed for the event, but each will put their own flair, touch, color, etc. into what they are doing. However, no matter how personalized they are, they will be dealing with the requirements of the event at hand, so knowing what they are, allows them to be prepared. Preparation is a great key word here. We may not be able to stop a storm from happening, or the Sun from shining; but we can prepare ourselves for the conditions at hand, and adjust accordingly. It reminds us that our choices then become how comfortable we are and how well we handle the influences at hand. If someone wears a heavy winter jacket in high humidity heat, then they are likely to be miserable; however, if someone hydrates well and wears clothing that allows them to be cool then they will be much more comfortable. What a great parallel to show while we don’t have control over everything that happens in this world, we do have the choice of how comfortable we will be with what does happen. What choices will you make that will help you maneuver the upcoming year? Have you looked at what the terrain of 2016 will bring for you? How can you shift your challenges into opportunities?
