Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a small town with no way out? Have you ever felt stuck in a dead end job, a joyless relationship, home, marriage, friendship or family? What does it feel like? Does it feel like a rock in the pit of your stomach or a chain dragging your down? Do you have the weight of the world on your shoulders?
In this moment of no way out, there is only one thing to do – find a way out! Yup! Find a way out.
Find a way to change your perspective, to give yourself, your world, a possibility of a different world, a different self. It can be as simple as taking a walk or as big as quitting your job or moving away. But the only way to get out of the depression of hopelessness, fear and tyranny that is the place of stuck is to find a way out into the freedom of possibility.
Possibilities can open a world undiscovered, break through the monotony and bring forth a world fresh and new. Possibilities can free someone from the darkest prison, give hope to those lost in the shadows and create a beacon of light to bring your lost ship home.
Possibility is one of the most powerful forces in the universe, responsible for everything that has ever been created. It is the birthplace of ideas, of invention, of dreams, goals, wishes and fantasy turned into reality. It is the magical element of humanity to look beyond what is present to see what is possible.
When you were born, your body, mind, and brain took in the elements of the world. Sound, sight, taste, touch created a world of possibilities. What you discovered, learned, grew to believe as reality is just a simple series of possibilities. What you saw, touched, tasted, smelt, felt and experienced became your world. As you grew, your world grew, little by little, adding on each day a new experience, a new sight, a new sound, all to be integrated into the original version of the world you were presented at birth.
Your world continues to grow now. New possibilities open up, new insights, new thoughts, new meaning to life. Growth is a natural part of life. But, as you grow, you constantly compare the new experiences with the old, with the world you were presented in childhood when you first came to experience this reality. Your brain constantly compares the new experience you are having with the old, compare and contrast. It is a survival mechanism built in to not only keep you safe, but to help keep some consistency and sanity in your world.
If you were presented with all the possibilities available in each moment in time, it would overwhelm your senses. It would fry the circuitry of your brain. You would freeze, shut down, overload. So, instead, your brain, body and soul limit the possibilities, giving you limited options and screens out the stimulation coming in to help keep you sane, stable and able to live in a consistent world.
The result of this limited perspective so cleverly programmed within the human condition is that sometimes we get stuck. We get stuck in the limited perspective. We get stuck in the reality of the present moment and it becomes our only moment. We get stuck thinking this is all there is. Blinders on, we walk the only path we have known. We live in the town we were born. We work at the jobs we are told to. We love who we are told we should love and allow the behavior we are lead to believe is acceptable.
If we attempt to change this world, we are met with resistance. We are met with fear. Others call us out, try to stop us from moving out of stuck. If we move out of stuck, we move away from them and they like us there, with them, in stuck. Misery does indeed love company.
This place of stuck can be as simple as a frame of mind. Drama, crisis, victim, martyr, perpetrator are all the tools and techniques of stuck. They encourage and bring forth a helplessness feeling that acts like a magnet to the place of stuck. The longer we stay, the more difficult it is to change, to create or even see any other possibilities. And in this place of stuck it is almost impossible to leave.
The solution to getting unstuck is to move, to change, is to do something that allows your mind, body, and soul to see, to feel, to be, in the realm of something else, anything else. Something as simple as watching a movie, reading a book or going on a road trip is enough to begin the awakening, to allow the realm of a different world to enter your consciousness. Make a change. Meet new people. See new places. Travel. Read. Explore! Stop the drama by walking away from it. Question. Learn and question again. Begin your own journey. Discover your own world and open your mind, heart and body to a new world of possibilities.
Part of the idea and sentiment of a New Year’s Resolution is to expand, to grow, to create and make a better life, world or body for your self. This year, instead of making a resolution, make an action plan. Do one thing, today, here, now that can open your world to possibility, whether reaching out to someone you don’t know, going someplace you have never been, trying a new food or calling an old friend. Do one thing, here, today to create newness in this New Year.
Begin today, start now. Check it off your list and walk on into the field of possibilities, full of joy in what is to come!
In Clear Conscience, walking with you every step of the way.

The WORLD Collective Consciousness is the combined voices of all the people, creatures, nations, energies, thoughts and possible realities that this wonder of a world has created and will create. We all have a Collective of who we are: mind, body, spirit, subconscious, lives lived, people loved, spirit connections, guides and energies. That is us as individuals. The WORLD Collective Consciousness is us as a whole. They speak with one voice, a sense of humor and a practical way of showing us all the possibilities we have available to us at any moment. They are more than thrilled to now be a part of the conversation in the spiritual community and eventually in the world itself.
