Relaxing on the therapy couch, listening to the sound of angelic music, enjoying the scent from an aromatherapy candle and emptying your mind of worry, you wait for the touch of healing hands. Energy begins to build and a deep relaxation flows through your body. Suddenly your healer stops working. “I’m sorry,” she says, ” I’m unable to continue, this just won’t work.” Your healer has sensed that something is not compatible with the energy interaction. Your healer is a professional. Anyone can say the words, “I love you.” It’s the way they are said that carries their true meaning or intention. As a healer your intention should be always to heal and love unconditionally. False intention reflects in the auric field and interferes with healing energy drastically. A healer must go through intensive and lengthy training during which time many of their own emotional blocks will emerge. Ideally, several years of training is necessary for these issues to be examined and healed. If this hasn’t been addressed the healer will find themselves becoming too involved with the patient’s issues, particularly if they cause the healer to recollect their own unresolved issues. By clearing out emotional blockages the aura becomes healthy and vibrant. The channel that allows spiritual guidance to flow though it un-resisted is widened and the exciting opportunity to channel higher guidance presents itself. The emotional pain of clearing out issues allows the healer to empathize with the patient and what they may expect to go through, thus building a bond of trust that indicates you really do know what they are going through. Also, you can be an example of how healing can work. At times, a healer will not feel able to connect comfortably with a patient. This may be because energetically they are not compatible or the patient may be releasing an unresolved issue within the healer. Alternatively, a healer may not have matched their energy to the patient and may be coming through with too high a vibration for comfort, leaving the patient feeling spaced out and ungrounded. Healing should be gentle and encouraging to the patient. All emotional issues arising from a healing session should be talked about and reframed into a positive learning experience. The outcome is always an emotional and physical healing with the added possibility of spiritual growth. A healer working without experience or from their own ego is likely to do more harm than good. Taking on a friend as a patient is fine as long as you both understand that your relationship will change forever. Seeing a couple may also be difficult for all parties as confidentiality can be easily broken. A good healer will always tell you not to expect incredible results. Only 1% of healings work instantly. Progress has to be at the patient’s pace and depends on their willingness to let go of stored up emotions and memories that are holding back their progress to a healthier life, emotional peace, and spiritual insight. Some healers are not prepared to see a course of treatments through to death in a terminal illness. Others may have issues with prescribed medicine. A healer who practices psychometry may feel physical pain, and an empath may be overwhelmed by crippling emotions. As a patient, always ask your healer questions regarding their training and any results from previous healing sessions. Do they have testimonials? How did you find them? Word of mouth is always best. Undertaking a course of spiritual healing is a commitment on both sides and requires trust. It can have far reaching results that will change your life for the good, forever. Happy healing! ]]>
