Discover the dream meanings for snake and spider.
By Pamela Cummins
Dream
Thank you for the opportunity to get an interpretation about my son’s nightmares. He has had these dreams for three nights in a row.
He sees a huge spider and black snake. He steps on the spider with his right foot, it’s not easy to kill so he’s pushing his foot hard. Finally he kills the spider, then the snake curls into his left foot and starts to burrow inside his foot. He starts to scream because of the pain.
The other dream was a huge spider looking directly at him, while he’s looking back and going to kill it, he feels this terrible pain by his waist. He looks down, sees this black thick snake burying into his stomach, the pain is terrible, and he’s trying to pull it out but can’t. When he wakes up and says he can feel the pain.
What possible interpretations could these dreams have?
Interpretation
It would have been helpful to know your son’s age, yet I will do the best I can with the interpretation.
Spider’s general dream meanings can be:
- Creating something new.
- Weaving a trap.
- Female energy overcoming male energy.
Snake’s general dream meanings may be:
- Transformation
- Male’s sex organ.
- Medicine as this is their logo.
These are just a few possible meanings of snake and spider’s dream symbols, which often appears in the general population’s dreams. Every person has their unique take on what a symbol means that are influenced by emotions, past or present circumstances, relationships with others, current problems, unresolved issues, and emotions within the dream. Which is why these two symbols can have thousands upon thousands of meanings.
Since I have no idea what is going on in his life, you and/or your son will know which one of the following possible interpretations is the correct one.
- Perhaps your son actually does have some type of bug or worm within his body that is causing pain. Obviously, if he’s in pain, seek medical attention.
- Another meaning may be that your son is having growing pains as he transform from a toddler to a child, a child to a teenager, or a teenager to an adult.
- This is an interpretation of the first dream. Your son is attempting to terminate his female energy (creativity, feelings, and intuition) that is causing his male energy (logic, unemotional, and doer) to take over, hence the symbol of the black snake. This will cause him much pain and be out of balance.
- For the second dream, it’s close to the third interpretation. Except he is actually looking to kill his creative process, which causes much pain in his gut feeling and personal power.
- A possible interpretation is there is a man in your son’s life who is not allowing him to be himself. This is causing him to feel ungrounded and be out of touch with his personal power.
- Lastly, if he watched a scary movie about snakes and spiders it can affect his dreams.
Since your son’s dreams happened three nights in a row, I truly doubt it was from a movie or television show. Whichever of these interpretations is correct, please allow your son to be himself and follow his passion.
