For my forty first column, I would like to take a different approach than I usually do for this column and announce my new book Learn the Secret Language of Dreams. This book couldn’t have happened without this column because a large percentage of the dreams and interpretations are from the columns. Although, I have clients and my personal dreams in the book as well. This book draws upon my twenty five year journey of studying and helping my clients with dream communication. I spent a few weeks going through the columns to find different styles of dreams to go into the correct chapters for each dream category. The reason for this is described in the second paragraph of the dream book description: Symbolism in dreams is not a “one size fits all.” One symbol can mean many things. In order to understand the nature of dream symbolism more clearly, you will need to know what category your dream fits into. This eBook will help you identify the different dream styles so you can recognize what part of your life the dream message is for. Once you know the category of your dream, it will be easier to interpret your unique personal symbolism. I didn’t just copy and paste each dream into the chapters. There was much to write in each chapter to help readers understand that each dream category has to be broken down even further with different types of dreams that can happen within one dream category. Believe it or not researching and writing the book was the easy part. The hard part was everything had to be edited by an online grammar tool, myself, my editor, and copy editor. I drove my man crazy asking him if a sentence or paragraph was correct. I even read the whole book out loud. Yuppers, my two cats are now dream experts from listening to their slave reading the book! All in all, the eBook went through ten or more edits. I was so pleased when the founder of Bellesprit Magazine, Belle Salisbury, agreed to write the foreword. Here are some samples from the beginning of four chapters from the book: Environment Dreams Environment dreams occur during sleeping while we are subconsciously aware of our surrounding environment or our physical body’s needs. People chuckle when I mention these types of dreams because they are the easiest to remember. An environment dream usually wakes us up. My personal dream below will demonstrate this. Inner Environment Dreams In my dream I needed to urinate. I went to one stall and there was someone in there, in fact, every bathroom stall I went to was filled, so frustrating. It seemed like forever, however, I finally found an empty one. There was no door! I didn’t feel comfortable going because there were men and women hanging around the stall. My God, Mother Nature was really calling when I woke up! There have been many variations on that dream theme for myself and others. Our bodies will also let us know that we are thirsty in a dream as another dream of mine will show. Recurring Dreams My clients will ask me, “Why do I keep dreaming the same thing over and over again? The dream may not always be the exact same, although it has the same theme – why?” The answer is simple; you have not learned a particular lesson in your life. Humans can easily go into denial about themselves and not want to exert the effort, or are fearful about making a change in order to grow. The subconscious mind does not care about your denial, feelings, nor if you are being a sloth. Therefore, the subliminal mind will remind you in your vulnerable dream state, until that lesson is learned. This is the benefit of recording your dreams: you will begin to notice the repetition, and it will help you understand their meaning. Nightmares “Anyone out there enjoy having a nightmare?” I’m sure most people would say no because nightmares are scary. When someone is having a nightmare, they could toss and turn, scream out, or end up drenched in sweat. Yet, nightmares are needed to help us get out of denial of a situation or work past a fear to achieve better lives. Bad dreams and nightmares are very similar, except a nightmare will wake you up out of a sound sleep. Nightmares are a gift because the person is being forced awake to look at an issue that they have been avoiding to find a solution. If the person chooses to ignore and downplay the nightmare, it could cause recurring bad dreams/nightmares until the problem is resolved. Spiritual Dreams Human beings are on the Earth plane in order to grow into higher spiritual beings. We do this from the lessons that occur on Earth. Our lesson plans consist of how we treat other humans and all living creatures, pursue goals, overcome obstacles, and work on personal growth. No one said the journey is easy and dreams show where we are currently at on our path’s destination. Spiritual dreams are meant to comfort us during difficult times, show us how much we have grown, and encourage us to go to a higher level.
