The Train Station Ticket Man Intuitive Life Signs bring the empowerment of an oracle card reading to a deeper level, showing you each of the possibilities in the sign you chose. Choose your sign and match it with the message. It’s that simple! Each sign’s corresponding meaning has questions and suggestions as to how to use that meaning to gain introspection, clarity and clear answers about your life’s issues. Learning to live an intuitive life is as simple as trusting your gut on which sign calls to you! Looking deeper can bring you to a place of fulfillment and enlightenment. You choose! What sign calls to you today? 1. Cloudy Days Have you ever experienced a long, hot summer when the days just went on forever, the sun beat down on you relentlessly, heating up your skin to the point that your eyes burned and your lips dried and cracked? Imagine a desert kind of heat that soaks into you, drying out all the moisture that you have inside. How does it feel then when a cloudy, rainy day arrives? Pretty good, eh? Suddenly there is relief! A cool breeze on the horizon, the scent of rain in the air flows towards you. The urge to cuddle up and just watch from your window and rest for a day emerges. A calm arrives. A peace arrives with it. People’s energies wane and a hush falls over the busy cities. There is an urge to drink coffee and talk over deep philosophies, to stop and just breathe for the moment. That is the joy of the occasional cloudy day. Now what happens when the next day is cloudy and the next and the next and the next? Suddenly you are so immersed in grey clouds you cannot remember the feeling of the hot sun on your skin. It isn’t so peaceful then, is it? It can get irritating, depressing and downright miserable! What happens when the sun shows up again? There is joy! Jubilation! Life is good again. And back we are at the beginning. If you were drawn to the sign of the Cloudy Day, perhaps it is time to take a look at where things are out of balance in your life. A cloudy day every once in a while is a relief. Too many is too much. Where is it in your life where doing, having, thinking and being the same has become so mundane and cloudy that it’s irritating? Perhaps in small doses, it does well. But everyday, all day, it can be a killer to the body (too much sun) or a killer to the soul (too many clouds). Which is it? Where are you today? 2. Car In the dreamtime state, cars are meant to represent your ego, your personality. You know how guys just love to have those fast flashy cars and mothers would rather drive SUVs instead of mini-vans? In waking life it is the same. The car you drive, or choose to drive, becomes a part of your extended body, your extended self. It becomes your personality, a representation of you. So often today, people spend more time in their cars than in their homes. More people see you in your car than know where you live. It is an extension of you. Now, as you read this, are you thinking about the kind of car you drive? Are you thinking of the cars you have driven over your lifetime? Good! Because that is what this sign is asking you to do. Notice how your life has changed over the years. Cars come and go. They live with us and become a part of us. Why did you choose, or were forced to choose, the kinds of cars you have had over your lifetime? When were you car-less? What were you going through at that time, financially, emotionally, relationship wise? Now, if you could have the perfect car to describe you, not what you could afford or would need, but could just have, what would it be? What would it look like, feel like? Why? Using the car as an example can help you dig deep to discover who you really are and what really brings you joy, peace of mind and security in this world. Now send love to yourself the way you would that car. (This parts harder to do!) Perhaps it’s time to treasure your self the way you have always treasured those cars. 3. The Notebook Therapists and life coaches say that keeping a journal is a wonderful way to process your thoughts, understand your dreams and get in touch with your inner self. One would argue it is also a way to record the passage of time. Life goes by so fast with so much happening in each day. It flies by in increments that are immeasurable. Writing down or journaling the moments of the day can bring a way of mindfulness and deliberate recognition of the time that passes in a way that not much else can. It forces one to sit down and remember, feel, envision and relive the moments of the day. It forces one to pull back from doing the day to thinking about what happened during the day. It does not matter what is written. It does not matter what is recorded. It does not matter if it is ever read. It doesn’t matter. What matters is taking the time to stop doing and just reflecting on the day. Journaling can be a matter of writing, photographing, scrapbooking, sketching or even talking. It isn’t about the manner it is done. It is about the process. Reflection of the day slows it down so that it becomes more than just a flash, it becomes a memory. It becomes a story. It becomes a feeling. How often do you reflect on your life? On your days? If you drew this sign, perhaps it is time to just slow down for a moment and reflect, creating a more meaningful life out of those busy days. 4. Safari Hat Are you ready to go on a Safari? If you drew this sign, perhaps it is time! What do you think of the moment you think of going on a Safari? Elephants and Tigers and Lions and the wild open space? Adventure? Danger? Joy? What springs to mind the moment the word Safari is used? The thing is, adventure, new sights, sounds and places, don’t have to be far away and out in the wilderness to give you that sense of exploration. They can be as simple as changing up a routine, moving out of your comfort zone and doing something new. It is much easier to think of planning or saving for a big trip like a Safari. It is drama filled! There is excitement. It’s something to tell your friends and family. It makes for great pictures in the living room. But, what if the Safari you are being called to take is simply one into your own soul, your own mind, your own life? What if you are being called to become an adventurous person overall, in general? What would that look like? What would it feel like? It is time. You are being given a Safari Hat symbolically calling on you to become more adventuresome, more willing to change, be open to new and exciting things. Whether it means trying a new food at your regular restaurant or moving to a location you have always wanted to live, now is the time! Shake things up! Do something different. See new lands! Explore new worlds. It all exists, right at your doorstep. You have the power now. Are you willing to take it? Adventure is calling! 5. The City Life Once upon a time there lived a man in a suit who lived nine floors up in a high rise in the city. Each day this man would walk the fourteen blocks to his high rise office building where he worked on the twenty-fourth floor. Each night he would go down the elevator and out the doors to the street and back to his ninth floor apartment. Everyday was the same routine. On weekends he would go to the nearby park and watch the ducks and the kids play and say to himself, “Someday I’ll buy a farm, live far from here and have a much simpler life.” Then one day, he did. He quit his job, moved out of the city to a farm with forty acres upstate. It was a dramatic change. The man got up before dawn, milked the cows, fed the goats, got the eggs from the chickens and cleaned the barn, all before dawn. He toiled from morning until night, seven days a week. He was so busy he barely had time to sleep, much less sit and watch the ducks on the pond. After a few months of this, he had had enough. He packed up his things, bought a new suit and moved back to the city where everyday the café barista made his coffee, the street sweepers cleaned his stoop and he could get all the food he needed from the grocery store. It turned out he had been living the simple life he wanted after all! If you were attracted to this sign, take a look at where you think the “grass is greener on the other side” in your own life. Perhaps your side is already simpler, happier and greener and what you needed all along! 6. Wandering through Forest As most fairytales begin with a trial into the forest, so, too does this sign take you on a journey. The symbolic nature of a path through the forest begins with the first step. As any human ever in existence knows, the boundaries outside a forest are much safer in terms of survival. Forests are filled with thick brush, hills, pit holes, animals and bugs of every kind. Things can creep up on you from above in the trees, beneath your feet from the ground, around the corner beneath a hidden tree. One must be on guard entering a forest, and yet, there is a natural need, a curiosity, a desire to enter the forest. Deep within the human heart lies the desire to just go peek, to just take that step into this mysterious and vast place. If you have drawn this sign, it is time for you to take a look around your own life. Where is it you are ready to take that first step into an unknown adventure, filled with hidden pitfalls and potential danger and potential joy? What it is that is calling to you? Why? Sometimes the answer is as simple as the fairytale need to take that first step into the forest. 7. Up in the Stars Far, far and away lie the billions of stars that make up our universe, our galaxy. We so often think we are so important, that this world is the only world that exists, that this is all there is. If you have chosen this sign, it is time to take a look at the night sky and stare at the stars. What do you see? A billion dots of light? Now picture one of those dots as if it were the earth and you were looking at it. Would you be able to see the oceans? The trees? Nations? People? You? Sometimes the things in our lives can seem very all important and overwhelming. Sometimes we can think this is all there is. This is not all there is. The truth is that we are just a speck in the vast sky filled with billions of stars. We are just a dot, a very wonderful, amazing, beautiful dot, but a dot nonetheless. If this scares you, then perhaps it is time to open up and stare at the sky a bit more. If this excites you, then feel into that thought as you go about your day and shine like the star you are! Seeing the events in our lives from a broader and bigger viewpoint can help us gain perspective. If you have drawn this sign, perhaps it is time to detach, pull far away and ask “How important is it? How big is it now?” Sometimes the biggest problems reveal themselves to be no more than a speck in the sky. 8. Country Roads Imagine you are flying over the countryside. The lines of the roads go out in all directions, lined up in perfect squares and circles as they traverse the landscape. They are all laid out nice and organized, nice and neat. Now imagine that all these lines, these roads, these lines that go on and on forever are the choices in your life. Everywhere you go, everything you do, has a straight line or cross roads where you can turn left or right, places where there is open space you can speed down the road, and places that are 25 mph small towns or cities. What you choose, what direction you turn and the people in the car with you are under your control. Now, imagine the countryside once again. It has weather. It has other people on the roads. It has cows who wander into the roads occasionally. Those things you cannot control. What you can control in this metaphor for your life is not the cows or the people or the weather. But you can choose the direction you take as you travel the roads, the speed you are going and whether to appreciate the beautiful vistas, sunsets, ponds, streams and green meadows along the way. You have those in your power, in your control. If you chose this sign, it is time to get a better perspective on your life. What road are you traveling down? Is it where you want to be? Close your eyes and imagine your life as if it were a countryside. What decisions are there to be made in your life? Picture them as roads. What roads look good to you? What roads look difficult or bumpy? What roads look steep, but worth the climb once you get to the top and see the view? Life is just a series of decisions, just like driving the back country roads. What ways you take and how much you appreciate the views along the way is the journey. 9. Train Station Ticket Man Back in the day, the train station was the place to be. It was where the comings and goings of society took place. Before everyone and their teenage daughter had their own car, trains were the way you got to work, went on vacation and took trips to see your family. There was a lot going on in that train station! The person who knew most about who was coming and who was going was the ticket man. He sat in the booth each day and not only watched who was coming and going, but was within earshot of the conversations on why they were going where they were going and with whom. He was the man to know if you wanted to find out what was going on. But it didn’t come free. For no one talked to this train man. He was as obsequious as the walls of the station himself. So, to get the information, it was not money that had to trade hands, but conversation. If you were drawn to the train station sign, perhaps it is time to find some valuable information from someone in the know, someone who sits and watches the comings and goings of life around them, someone who has great wisdom and insight within them, if you would only stop, take a moment and listen. If you could find this person, what would you want to ask them? What would they tell you? Sometimes this person is a grandparent who knows of your family. It could be a boss or mentor who has walked the path you are now on and traveled where you wish to go. It could even be the wise voice of your inner self, who knows you better than you do. Whoever the ticket man is in your life at this time, all it takes it the price of a conversation to get the information you are looking for right now. So, slow down. Perhaps it’s time to talk to the ticket man! Views:]]>
