Your greatest lesson within this current timeframe is that simplicity will be your salvation. – A Guest in Their Universe, Maeve-Ann Wiseflower
Many of us who may be interested in healing, angels, or spirituality may feel drawn to working with crystals of all kinds. We can search here and there for the right crystal to buy. Every time we have a health or other issue we may seek to buy a new or more appropriate crystal as a remedy. Those of us who are fortunate enough to have a lot of money may spend thousands of dollars to purchase crystals, skulls, or even life-size geodes for our home. But what are we really accomplishing?
As someone who works primarily with the Archangel Ariel (the archangel governing reverence for the earth, manifestation, and love for animals), what has been conveyed to me is that we are being asked, during these times, to regard Mother Nature’s crystals with more reverence…to detract away from the energy of treating these parts of nature as commodities for buying and selling.
Does this mean we can never buy crystals? Not really. We are merely being asked to become more conscious towards how we treat them, as well as how we treat the earth from where they are extracted. Excessive mining of anything can have an environmental impact. We are also being asked to consider the type of emotional or mental energies and/or vibrations we are partaking of (in a collective sense) when we fall too heavily into the need to have and own too much. As a wise person one stated, “bigger is not always better.” This is even true with regard to crystals.
Wherever there is excess concerning the creation or manufacturing of man-made items, an expenditure is required of not only personal time and energy, but also natural resources, which are limited. None of the energies that are ‘spent’ in the producing of man-made conveniences are infinite. If such expenditures of energy and resources are not kept in balance—that is, if more is taken then given in return—then exhaustion can result. ~ A Guest in Their Universe by Maeve Ann Wiseflower
When the earth is over-mined in order to extract her precious crystals, she is not being treated with the respect that She deserves. There is such a rush on this planet right now to have, to produce, and to own so much that it is creating an opposite energy where resources become depleted. Wherever excess is produced, depletion of some sort of resource must result. A better approach for us would be to strive to keep things in balance.
There are ways to invoke the energies of crystals without needing to own or possess them physically. We can invoke a crystal’s energy in the same way that we would invoke the energies of angels, sacred geometry, and healing; i.e., through using intention, visualization, or reverence. Reverence has an entirely healing affect, while hoarding focuses on the energy of greed. So, the next time you think of purchasing a crystal or buying a giant geode, instead try going into meditation and visualizing sitting with the crystal of your choice. Imagine it enveloping you in its energy and what that would feel like. Ask this crystal if it truly wants you to purchase it and listen in stillness for an answer.
How many crystals is enough?
It is true that you can have too many crystals in your home. I have even encountered people who suffer from energy imbalances from using too many crystals or having too many in their home. People who are especially sensitive may feel effects such as lack of grounding, dizziness, feeling scattered, or other symptoms. Some people who are very sensitive to crystals may have trouble sleeping if there are too many crystals in their bedroom or near their bed.
As someone who is a Flower Essence Practitioner, this makes perfect sense to me. Both crystals and flower essences offer subtle healing energies. With flower essences, the goal is to use, at most, five essences at a time. Even selecting these five essences, it is recommended to pick essences that are complementary to one another. If you pick too many essences, you run the risk that you lessen the healing effect (which become less focused).
Possibly, there is something that lacks trust about our need to grasp to possess these wonderful and beautiful objects. Instead, trust that you can call on the energy of crystals without disturbing them so much or contributing to the mind-set that these beautiful objects need to be mined in a way that lessons the reverence for their mother: Mother Earth.
