She had a magic mirror and often stood in front of it and asked, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who in this land is the fairest of them all?” And the mirror would answer, “You my Queen are the most fairest of them all.” With this reply, she was delighted because she knew the mirror never lied.
As Snow White grew she became lovelier every day. Then, one day, when Snow White came to an age of maturity, the queen asked the mirror who was the most beautiful of all. It replied, “You, my queen, may have a beauty quite rare, but Snow White is a thousand times more fair.” Naturally the queen was furious to hear this and she came to hate Snow White so much that she never had a moment’s peace.
The wicked Queens’s vanity and ego corrupted her beauty. Her exquisiteness was now overshadowed by her jealousy creating an ugly soul, causing disillusion and blindness about what true beauty is.
The wicked Queen symbolizes the ego and external adverse forces opposed to her conscious evolution. The self has to be distinguished from the ego. The self is the total, fully integrated psyche, in which all opposing or conflicting elements are united and co-ordinated.
The definition of ego is the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity.
Vanity and narcissism are often displayed in our everyday society; we see this through social media and all of us have, at one time, been around a person that has become thwarted and even obsessed about outward appearances.
Narcissism is also considered a social or cultural problem, so at times many of us can easily become caught up in overindulgence of ego and falsities derived from looking in a fun house of kaleidoscope images. The images have been obstructed by an inflated sense of self-importance.
A positive self-esteem can and does defeat vanity through maintaining a balance of the ego and the conscience-Soul.
Self-esteem is how we value ourselves; it is how we perceive our value to the world, it is the acknowledgment our individual spot of color amongst all of the other flecks of color on the gorgeous canvas depicting a painting of our lives.
We can all hope to avoid the fun house hall of mirrors by having synchronicity of the self, the conscious and the subconscious.
Our intuition is based on the ability to comprehend something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. It is the knowledge that comes from within.
And at times our egos can and does take away from our intuition causing confusion about the self as well as creating a parcel of personal wishes, fears, hopes and ambitions that actually counter progress and positivity that bind us with the universe.
We all go through periods in our lives when we want to believe that nothing of what see and truly feel could be real and that there are false potentials of our reality being the fantasy that we want.
The fantasy always has a fairy tale ending and a reward. The true reward should be the feeling of genuine joy, pure happiness of knowing that what is created is for the greater good, your best you.
Ego can create many facades and requires external outcomes to appear in order for one to feel good. Money, success, status, and beauty become the primary source for motivation and the truth of intuition becomes blinded. The ego believes that for you to gain that someone else must lose. That you are the most beautiful in comparison to another, that you will overlook another so you can step in front of them or step on them in order for your achievements to have meaning. Your higher self develops the notion that abundance, outward beauty and logic are the only keys to self-fulfillment.
True abundance is by the way of giving. Internal beauty enhances external beauty for the genuine glow of the soul illuminates a person’s exterior. Love is a feeling; its purity cannot be attained through logic.
Intuition focuses on your inner development of your best qualities from the inside. It is centered from your heart, your soul, your truth that is derived from the self’s interconnectivity with the universe. There is no argument because true intuition does not argue, it is simply, knowing.
Mirrors can show us the images of ourselves and sometimes the mirror is a reflection of a positive or negative quality we see in another. With true beauty, we must not overlook what beauty is. Beauty is the reflection of the pure light within your soul, your soul is the true mirror image of you, not the reflection depicted on the wall.
“Mirror, Mirror on the wall tell me how to be the most beautiful that I can be to all that I see.”
