When Owl comes to visit you, what message does it bring?
“Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.” Job (12:7-8)On September 5, 2012 I was visited by an owl while sitting outside on my patio late that evening. At first glance I wasn’t sure what had appeared in front of me on my fence post as it was massive in size and had made no sound upon its arrival. I stood in front of this magnificent animal (only about 5 feet away) for at least 10 minutes in silent commune. This was the first time I had ever seen such magnificence this close. I was a bit frightened at first but quickly settled down and just enjoyed the experience. After our time was up, he flew off gently and without a sound into the night. I began to wonder if there was a meaning in Owl’s visit for me. Why was I visited by the Owl and why now? I researched the animal ‘medicine’ for the Owl and here is what I found: Owls are commonly associated with wisdom. The fact that they can see so clearly in the night shows that they can see through to the truth, even in the darkest nights. Owl can see what others cannot see, which is at the root of true wisdom. Where there is deception, Owl sees through it. If Owl has come into your vision today, it is a sign that no one can deceive you about what they are doing, no matter how hard they try to hide it. Look out for people in your life who may have ulterior motives, and know that with Owl medicine on your side, you cannot be fooled. Owl medicine people know more about an individual’s inner life than that person knows about him or herself. If you are facing a difficult situation in your life at this time, Owl is reminding you to use your powers of silent observation to come to a better and clearer understanding. Owl is here to aid you and help you to see the whole truth about the matter. As Owl is a creature of the night, pay attention to your dreams, for they may offer signals and omens of things to come. The truth always brings further enlightenment. Views:]]>
