This month we will be taking a look at perspective and insights. This is concerned with looking beyond what is at first presented to you and seeing through the illusion. We will then take a look at Spiritual Perspective, what is this and does it differ?
Changing your perspective can mean letting go of what you perceive to be ‘normal’ and looking outside the box, expecting the unexpected. We have all heard people say the phrase ‘a new perspective on things’, but what exactly does this mean? Gaining a new perspective is all about stepping back and viewing the situation, world, or person through fresh eyes, cutting through any illusions present, and seeing the bigger picture. A new perspective can create clarity, illuminate a thought or a moment in time, it will generate an energy force that will create change. This change will then enable empowerment to be achieved.
Taking a spiritual perspective on life will challenge you to face your fears and work through any limiting beliefs that no longer serve your highest good. Developing your spiritual perspective will enable you to move from any type of blame and victim mentality. It will assist you to detach from others drama and to see the deeper lesson within.
Recently, I was reminded by spirit of the need to detach from the material world and see the bigger picture. This is especially important when we may be troubled. In these current times so many people are experiencing difficulties and it can become very easy to remain stuck in a victim mentality and feed our own fears. This can be fuelled by the fact that so much focus is placed currently, through media and other communication channels, on the negative aspects of society.
As we become more and more detached from suffering, fear and pain, we no longer expect someone or something else to make us well or happy. When we seek and then decide to apply spiritual solutions, we show we have the courage to change our own attitudes and thoughts. We embrace the warrior within and tap into our innermost strength, our personal power centre.
From this perspective, as spiritual beings, we are guided to new solutions and unlimited possibilities. Healing and growth can then take place from the inside out. As we make the changes and when the growth and healing takes place, it has a ripple effect. Others will be affected by this energy and this will impact on their lives and enable them to create change and embrace the warrior within too. One person changing their perspective can be a catalyst for change for many others.
Whilst contemplating the topic of perspective, I was given the following meditation to share with you all. This meditation will assist you to gain a new perspective and see the bigger picture. If you wish, ask Archangel Michael for protection when completing this meditation.
- To start, sit relaxed in a quiet space where you will be uninterrupted. Sit upright, with your body open and relaxed and your feet on the ground.
- Visualise a ball of golden energy in the ground and picture tiny roots emerging from your feet and falling down into the ball of golden energy. Bring this energy up into your body. You are now grounded, centred and protected.
- Next, take two or three deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth, close your eyes and relax.
- Now, see a rough path unfold in front of you. This path leads you through a wooded area.
- Stay on the path and walk along. Notice how you are feeling as you go, what is on either side of the path and any sounds you may hear.
- You come to a clearing and in front of you is a lake with swans upon it. There is a seat nearby; make your way over to this and sit down. How does being here make you feel?
- As you sit here, it begins to rain. Feel the cool, fresh raindrops wash over you. Feel it wash away any negativity around and within.
- Speak to the universe and release any questions or concerns you have. Ask to be shown the bigger picture and the lessons within your current situation.
- Take a moment to embrace the cleansing properties of the rain and the message being presented to you as it falls.
- You may feel the answers, see them as a symbol, have a strong sense of knowing or it may present itself in the form of a tree, bird or animal that wishes to impart its wisdom to you.
- Spend some time listening and absorbing this wisdom. Know that you will take this with you upon your return.
- It is now time to return and take your journey home.
- The path that you have walked upon to reach your current destination, continues and curves back around on itself.
- Step on to this new section of the path and with your renewed perspective, continue back via this path. Know and trust that this will curve and take you back to your original starting point.
- Walking gently along this path, feel the familiarity and the sense of knowing that ‘All is Well.’
- Walk slowly back to your seat and gently open your eyes. Ground your energy again.
This mediation can be enhanced through completing it outdoors and linking with the spirit of nature. Link with the energy of the trees to gain a new perspective and connect with your spiritual self.
