Body Dry Brushing
This is one of the most beneficial and inexpensive treatments you can do for your skin. Dry brushing stimulates all organs of detoxification and here are more of the great benefits it offers:
- Reduces cellulite
- Cleanses the lymphatic system
- Removes dead skin layers
- Improves the immune system
- Stimulates hormone and oil producing glands
- Tones muscles
- Stimulates circulation
- Improves the nervous system
- Helps with digestion
- Aids in tightening the skin
- Evens out fat deposits
Buy a brush that is long enough to reach those tough areas and is comfortable in your hand. Let’s get started! Brush before you shower but not before bed as you may be too stimulated to sleep. Begin brushing, always toward your heart, using firm strokes on harder areas like your knees, elbows and heels. Continue for about 10-15 minutes then follow with warm water.

Sandi’s Skin Talk Q & A
Q: I heard that Vicks will work on zits, is that true?
A: Applying Vicks Vapor Rub to a zit will draw the oil to the surface making it easier to pop but it won’t make the zit disappear by just applying it.
Q: I would like to know if I can mix anti-aging creams for better results.
A: You should not mix them as they contain ingredients that can cause some serious skin problems by altering your skin’s pH balance.
Q: How does honey work on problem skin?
A: Honey has natural antibacterial qualities. When applied directly to problematic areas it suffocates bacteria in the skin and reduces swelling.
Q: I want to use green tea on my face but not sure how to do it, can you help?
A: Steep a couple of green tea bags and then let cool. Apply the bags to areas of concern for 10 minutes, rinse with warm water. There are also many products on the market that contain green tea.
Q: I was told I have secondary milia. What exactly is that?
A: Milia are made of keratin, a protein found in the skin. Secondary milia are caused by clogged sweat ducts. They usually develop after skin damage and trauma caused by conditions such as sun damage, burns, poison ivy rash, and harsh dermabrasion. When dead skin cells try to make it to the surface to flake off they can’t because the skin is too thick so they form white cysts of keratin.
Q: How can I tell if a product is safe for my skin?
A: Read the ingredient list for starters. Log on to
www.makingcosmetics.com to check the safety of ingredients in the makeup you use. Also check out the Cosmetic Ingredient Review.
Q: What can I do for my skin after a hangover?
A: Alcohol is dehydrating and your eyes can look very puffy after an evening of drinking. Use a good bronzer, blush, and concealer can help cover the damage. Drink plenty of water.
