• Have your child sit calmly with their eyes closed. • Ask the child to pick a sound, any sound…. Ohm or Ahh or Dadada, any sound will do. I suggest they stick with the same sound, however. • Ask the child to repeat this sound in their head over and over. • Ask the child to see the sound, hear the sound, and feel the sound. • As the sound floats around in the child’s head they are relaxing and calming themselves. • For older children we can have the child take the sound and let the sound drift to a special place. • The special place is a place in the child’s mind that makes them feel relaxed and happy. • I tell the children to think of a place that makes them the happiest. Any place that they love to be at is perfect. • There they let the sound just flow. • initially the parent will speak the steps to the children. Speak the steps in calming tones. • The sound is to keep the child’s mind on something so they won’t become distracted easily. • This is a great exercise to be done with their eyes open as well. That is why it is important to practice this often.
When the child can use this tool with their eyes open they will be able to calm themselves in public places like school. Hug a tree Play in the sand Drink lots of water Pet our animals Stand barefoot on the earth Talk to plants The most important thing to know about our children and the energy is that children, as all of us do, need to know they are accepted exactly as they are. They need do nothing to be everything we dream of in our children. Even when the situation turns to something that makes us uncomfortable, remember it is not the child we are uncomfortable with, it is simply the behavior. Our children are amazing spiritual loving beings as perfect as we all are. We need to be the example we want our children to be.]]>You also might be interested in
