You can draw healing from the Earth at any time since the power that propels life on this planet is constant. Aside from going to great lengths to do this (rituals, pilgrimage, etc.) you can adapt it to do this anywhere, inside or out. The Earth’s energy (as reflected by gravity) is strong and reaches all locations, even through glass and steel. We need only to open our body, heart, and mind to be connected to her and fulfill our potential. This can be done by using this ceremony: Lie or sit cross-legged on the earth, or stand with the base of your spine against a tree, feeling how your body is one with the Earth. Feel the Earth energy coming up through your buttocks or feet as you breathe in, as you breathe out. Feel it in the middle part of your body, in the abdomen and the heart. Feel power in the area just below the navel, the hara, and let it radiate out all around you. Now you are grounded and centered, one with the Earth energy. Breathe in and feel the light of the Great Spirit, the divine energy, universal life force. Come down from above through your head, the crown chakra. Breathe out and feel the Earth energy centered between the abdomen and heart. You are now one with the divine energy and the Earth energy, all meeting in your hara. You are in the place energetically where you can do ceremony, healing, working with your guides and angels by just allowing your attention to go to wherever it is needed. In this state, you are what you were meant to be–A child of the Earth and of the sky. If you should need cleansing in preparation of doing this ceremony or if you have suffered a traumatic event, then the best way to do this is to bathe yourself in sage smoke. Brush it from head to toe, from front to back. I always brush my clients off with a pat 4 times on each shoulder and leg. You can also bathe in sea salt.
