There are treatments available, but do they work?
- Liposuction is surgery that removes fat surgically. The downside is that this procedure works best for removing fat that is deep in the skin.
- Mesotherapy is the injection of drugs directly into the cellulite. This is not very effective and very expensive.
Most people have some cellulite. To check your body, try pinching the skin in your upper thigh. If it looks lumpy, you probably have cellulite, but
you definitely are not alone.
What can you do to prevent or reduce cellulite?
- Eat a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and fiber
- Stay hydrated with plenty of fluids
- Exercise regularly to keep muscles toned and bones strong. Combine aerobic and strength training
- Maintain a healthy weight (no yo-yo dieting)
- Stop smoking
To conceal cellulite, try using a self-tanner as it is less noticeable on darker skin. A home treatment includes using coffee to fade cellulite. The caffeine-rich grounds will draw the water out of the fat cells, shrinking them. Once a week, rub two tablespoons of grounds on the cellulite. Be sure not to use decaf since caffeine is the magic ingredient. Massage the grounds in for two minutes then rinse.
Tips for the Eyes
- Applying concealer first keeps eyeliner in place.
- White eyeliner lifts brows, opens eyes creating the allusion that you’re wide awake. A little goes a long way!
- Blue eyes – use purple liner and pink or brown shadow.
- Small eyes – draw a line from the center of the upper lash line to the outer rim without wings. Next, line the outer third corner of the lower lash to connect to the line above.
- Don’t forget the inner rims, but remember darker colors make small eyes appear smaller.
- Choose the right pencil – mechanical liners are best since they are drier and they avoid fading.
- Always remove eyeliner and makeup at bedtime.
