It’s February, have you set your intentions yet? I’d rather set intentions than resolutions that are easily forgotten. Make your intentions specific, write them down and post them in view. ‘Energy flows where attention goes’ so consider creating a Vision Board. Be specific, be positive and don’t worry how or when it will happen, just know that it will!
The Year of the Wood Horse is January 31 – February 18th. Chinese New Year is based on a lunar calendar although China adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1911. The holiday was then renamed the ‘Spring Festival’. The Horse is the 7th sign of the Chinese Zodiac and this year ends in the number 4. From a Feng Shui perspective, it will be a Yang (masculine) or strong energy year. People can be aggressive, impulsive, opinionated, stubborn and independent. The Year of the Snake 2013 was a difficult year for most, but it did lay the groundwork for starting new things and finding romance. Snake years are about planning, finding ourselves and being flexible with everything life may throw at us. In 2014, if you want to start anything new, be prepared to make quick decisions – this is no year to procrastinate! It’s predicted to be a prosperous year in business and romance with exciting adventures, so make your travel plans! It’s a fast-paced year, so think before you act as to not regret any decisions this year. Try to be patient when dealing with others because you might find yourself clashing with ‘Horse’ willfulness!
If you were born in these years: 2014, 2002, 1990, 1978, 1966, 1954, 1942, 1930, 1918, or 1906, you’re a ‘Horse’ in the Chinese Zodiac. I’m a ‘Horse’ but I’m not telling! If you are one or know one, you’ll find they are cheerful, spirited, free-thinkers, independent, adventurous, risk-takers, highly intuitive and they will definitely speak their mind. ‘Horses’ do not like to be confined and can be impulsive, impatient and may not take romance seriously – be warned! This will be a lucky year for “Horse’ folks! Of course luck has many factors.
Feng Shui teaches that there are three kinds of luck: Heaven, Earth and Human. This is also known as the ‘Three Realms of Influence.’ To be successful and abundant, all three must be positively aligned with the natural order of life.
Heaven Luck: This is determined via when and where you were born, your personality, characteristics and your life circumstances. This cannot be changed, but it can be influenced through spiritual practices and prayer. We all have free will to make inspired life choices. Choosing the right time this year to create something new will bring success and prosperity. Call upon your Higher Power and angels to assist you. Heavenly Chi is the nurturing energy of the angelic realm, solar bodies, sky, climate and air.
Earth Luck: Adding Feng Shui to your environment enhances positive Natural Chi and minimizes the negative. If your landscape is lush then there is an abundance of Earth energy. If it is barren and dry, there is a lack of Earth energy. Good Earth luck is living in a space that is in harmony with nature; plants and animals. Many times my property has been home to animals building nests and digging holes to have their babies. In Feng Shui, animals feel safe giving birth if Earth luck is positive. Of course, we humans must take responsibility to keep the Natural Chi of the land preserved.
Human Luck: The blood in our body carries oxygen and nutrients. Chi energy carries thoughts, ideas, emotions and dreams. Our thoughts, positive or negative, have a direct impact on the cells of our body. The influence of the mind on physical health has been well established with the mind-body-spirit connection. Our family members, friends and others we interact with all impact Human Luck or our Personal Chi. Knowing that all three types of luck exist, you can see that we must be in harmony with each other. Utilizing Feng Shui principles adds power and influence to achieve your highest potential in life.
Valentine’s Day is February 14th and we all want to be ‘lucky’ in love! Does your love life need a boost? Spice it up with Feng Shui! In coaching sessions, I recommend that you begin with you! Do you love you? When you’re happy with who you are, you naturally attract happy and loving people. Open your heart to love and your energy will soar.
We know that clutter has a negative affect on everything, including your love life! If you’re single and ‘lookin’ for love’ or you’re a couple that needs a spark, these ideas will boost love energy. During consults, I’ve seen that a master bedroom tends to be overlooked. Using Feng Shui adjustments to the whole room creates a more sensual space. When entering the bedroom, the Relationship area is at the far right. Set an intention for romance and raise your love energy!
- Donate excess clothes to make room in the closet/drawers for a partner
- Remove computer, TV, desk and exercise equipment to concentrate on love
- Remove pictures of your kids and anyone else. The bedroom is for you and your partner only
- Remove or cover up mirrors that face the bed as they can disrupt sleep
- If you have only one end table, add one to the other side of the bed for balance
- If the bedroom is too feminine, change the décor so it’s pleasing to both partners
- Add a vase of pink/red peonies or peach blossoms – the flowers of love in China. They can be found at Asian markets. Place them at the right side of the room on a table/dresser and add a small bowl of pink heart-shaped crystals
- Add a framed wedding photo of just you and your partner
- Add two candles, two statues, etc, to represent the ‘two’ of you
- Red silky bed linens will add spice to your romance
- A wooden headboard will add stability to your relationship
- Diffuse essential oils to stimulate the sex drive, energy levels and a healthy production of hormones. Try Rose, Sandalwood, Jasmine or Ylang Ylang
This is Cupid’s time of year, but he’s not an angel! When I perform love readings, I call upon a group known as the Romance Angels. They can provide guidance in finding a partner, mending a broken heart, encouraging you to have fun and putting some ‘zing’ into your love life. Archangels will also help you, so please ask them. Keep in mind that you need to do some work on your part. You can’t ask for help in finding a partner if you never go out socially! Do your part and they will do theirs! This is a highly active and social year so make the best of it!
- Archangel Michael – he provides guidance in all matters, protection and keeps you safe in a healthy relationship
- Archangel Jophiel – the ‘Feng Shui angel’ – she beautifies our thoughts, keeps them positive and encourages us to keep a happy home
- Archangel Chamuel – he provides confidence and courage to find romance
- Archangel Haniel – she brings love to a partnership, ensures happiness and harmony and helps with communication issues
- Archangel Raphael – he heals broken hearts, releases past hurts and encourages us to open our hearts to new love
Angels know that when we’re in love we bring joy to the world. They love us and want us to be happy and fulfilled, so don’t be afraid to ask them for help. Who loves you baby? You’re angels do!
