Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a beautiful holiday season. 2014 was a wild roller coaster ride with a lot of life changes for many people. Chinese New Year does not begin until mid-February so you might feel some of this hectic energy until then. Did you make resolutions for this year? I personally do not, but instead will set intentions for what I want to manifest. Write your intentions as though they’ve already happened giving thanks and gratitude. This adds power to your intentions. Take some action every day towards your goals and trust!
Feng Shui works on a subconscious or intuitive level. Take a walk through your home and feel what it’s telling you. Is your home happy? Or, is it feeling tired and cluttered with stagnant energy? If you feel some ‘bad vibes,’ locate the source. To me, Feng Shui is like acupuncture for your home. Use it to unblock negative Chi and good energy will flow to increase abundance, good health, opportunities, luck, happy relationships and more. Trust your intuition and make your home the nourishing sanctuary it should be.
January is the perfect time to get ready for the energetic changes next month. Let’s use Feng Shui principles to prepare for a year ripe with new possibilities!
- De-clutter, donate or discard and thoroughly clean
- Pack away holiday items & discard/donate unused
- Only display items you truly love & donate the rest
- Clean out closets to make room for the new & donate the old
- Stock the pantry and fridge with healthy food to show abundance
- Write affirmations for your goals & post them where you can see them
- Smudge your home with open windows using sage, incense or ringing bells to wake up stagnant Chi. Set intentions for the new year & ask for angelic help
- Spray/diffuse pure essential oils for cleansing – pine, citrus, cypress eucalyptus
- Create a Vision Board for the family with everyone’s goals. Hang it where you see it daily. Energy flows where attention goes
- Replace a worn wallet & add money with the intention that more will come
- Organize your money by denomination. Leave room in the wallet for more
- Do not put credit cards in your wallet with money. They represent debt
- Tie 3 Chinese coins with red string & place it in your purse for abundance
- Always carry business cards. Energetically you are ready to meet clients
- Keep your purse neat, remove old receipts & clutter. Carry a piece of jade or green aventurine for abundance. Never put your purse on the floor
- Place a bowl of oranges for abundance in your kitchen. The word ‘orange’ sounds like ‘gold’ in Mandarin
- For better health start something new: meditation, yoga, Tai Chi
For new readers, I’ll explain the Feng Shui moon rituals. They can be performed every month. The Full Wolf Moon is January 4 at 11:54pm EST. Full moons contain an enormous amount of energy and emotions are amplified. Stay calm and positive, no arguing! It’s a time for releasing and cleansing our homes and our emotions. Call in your angels and guides for protection and love when you smudge. Open a window, set your intentions and light the smudge or incense. Starting inside at your front door, walk towards the right and let the smoke go into every room, especially the corners where stagnant Chi likes to hide! Circle back to the front door again. You can also wave the smudge to cleanse your aura. Now you and your home are cleansed!
Full moons are a good time to write a gratitude list for all that Spirit/Universe has provided. Meditating will bring mindfulness and calmness during a high energy time. You can ask the angels to help you send forgiveness to someone. Consider sending healing light to others in need. White light is for cleansing, green for healing and pink for love. Think globally. The world needs healing light and peaceful energy! Don’t forget to put out your crystals for a cleansing moon bath.
The New Moon is on January 20 at 8:14 am EST. This is the time to plant the seeds of your intentions, strengthen the Chi within and increase abundance. Initiate meetings, networking or begin a creative process. You can light candles and connect with Spirit, your angels or guides stating your focused intentions. Feng Shui advises to write only 10 intentions (and express gratitude) in red ink and place them in a red envelope. Put them inside your pillowcase to sleep on until the next new moon. Be specific and make sure the intentions are what you really desire. It’s always amazing to see how many will manifest!
Time to write an Abundance Check! You’ll need a real check or a copy from the internet. Leave the date blank, write your name in “Pay to the Order of,” write “Paid in Full” in the dollar amount and where you would write the amount. Sign the check from “The Law of Abundance.” Write ‘Thank You” under the signature line. Put it in a safe place and see what manifests for you. Remember that abundance is not always money. A friend could treat you to lunch or someone may give you priceless advice. Abundance is not always money!
Mercury Retrograde! I hope you’ve manifested your intentions by now because Mercury is going into Retrograde on January 21 at 10:54 am EST until February 11 at 9:57 am EST! Traditionally it’s a time for problems with computers, electronics, communications, travel plans, legal issues, etc. It’s a time to feel closer to Spirit, be extra-sensitive and even psychic. Use this time to re-adjust and re-evaluate your work. Shine a light on the shadow part of yourself that might need some re-inventing. On the bright side, many people love this slow time. Use it to organize, create and plan. Don’t panic because Retrograde happens at least three times a year!
