In Spiritual Feng Shui, the Solstice shines brightly on the soul and illuminates any darkness. Our spirituality is now in full bloom.
It’s June and the beginning of summer in the U.S. Last month we celebrated Mother’s Day and this month it’s Dad’s turn. Not only is it Father’s Day on June 21, it’s also the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the longest day of the year. I’m really looking forward to summer especially after this very harsh winter! Bring it on!
In Feng Shui it’s the peak of the sun’s Yang Fire energy. It’s the perfect time to celebrate and express gratitude for all the abundance already received and new blessings on the way. It’s also a remembrance to continue our Divine connection. Feel free to create your own rituals to celebrate the Solstice!
If you still have winter décor items in your home, it’s time to change to lighter and brighter décor. Open the windows and let in the sunlight and breeze. Go outside and enjoy warm weather activities or sit quietly, meditate and review the goals from earlier this year. If you’re not feeling fulfilled then revise your plans. Let’s get ready for summer the Spiritual Feng Shui way!
- Use a water fountain (the sound can lower your body temperature)
- Remove items in the colors of red, orange or strong yellow – Fire
- Remove candles and triangular shaped objects that are also Fire
- Pack away heavy clothes and clean out closets to donate or gift
- Wear light-colored and light-weight clothing
- Keep your home clutter free to allow the air to circulate
- Change your artwork to represent summertime or include flowers
- Eat lighter and healthier meals
- Drink more fluids, especially water to stay hydrated
- Plant an herb, vegetable or flower garden
Celebrate dear old dad or anyone who has been a father figure to you on June 21. Since my own dad passed many years ago, we celebrate with my brother-in-law and nephew. I also wish my dad a Happy Father’s Day too! Using the Bagua energy map, the area related to male, strong yang energy is Helpful People. This area of your home is at the right front corner as you enter. The element is Metal and the colors are gray, silver or black. To enhance the Metal of this area, add a round silver bowl or metal wind chimes.
In Spiritual Feng Shui, along with masculine energy the Helpful People area symbolizes Heaven, authority and leadership. This is the place to put pictures of dad or other strong male figures in your life. You can honor him by displaying a memento of a happy time together. If your dad is in business, place a statue of a Jade horse, Chinese lucky coins or a bamboo plant with the intention of his success. If your relationship is less than idyllic, place items here with the intention to encourage open communication and improve the relationship. Since Heaven is represented, display angel statues or any religious articles you favor, crystals and gemstones.
Before the Father’s Day festivities, the Full Strawberry Moon occurs on June 2 at 12:19 pm EDT. I always suggest you cleanse your crystals in the full moon light. You can do this by placing them outside or on a window sill. You can also place a bowl of water with essential oils (I like lavender and rose oil) in the moon light. It will be charged and you can pour it into a spray bottle and perform a Feng Shui space clearing the next morning. Remember to set an intention and invite the angels in when you cleanse and bless your home. All full moons are a great time to release what no longer serves your best and highest good. Write down a list of things you want to release and take it outside to burn it. Let the ashes blow your cares away! Archangel Haniel will help you to release old habits and beliefs. When you’re outside, remember to put your bare feet in Mother Earth and visualize yourself becoming centered.
The New Moon is June 15 at 10:07 am EDT. Don’t forget to write a Feng Shui Abundance Check from the Universe. Use one of your own checks or a copy from the internet. Where it says “Pay To” write your name and in the box write “Paid in Full.” Leave the date blank so abundance will come to you at any time. Where you write the dollar amount write “Paid in Full.” Sign the check from “The Law of Abundance.” I add “Thank You” at the bottom of the check. Endorse the check on the back with the intention that the Universe is sending you abundance! Put it away and let the Universe do its thing! Keep track of the extra money, new opportunities to earn and other good things! You can write a new one at the next new moon. Be open to receiving and express gratitude for the abundance that comes your way!
The Angel of June is Muriel. She encourages us to get outside and be one with nature. So enjoy the sunlight and summer breezes. You can call on her to help you realign the goals you set in spring. Let early summer refresh and energize you!
