There’s a lot to celebrate this month! May 1st is known world-wide as May Day, a celebration of spring and upcoming summer. Don’t feel like dancing around a maypole? May 6th is Cinco de Mayo in the U.S. which celebrates Hispanic and Mexican pride and culture. Also on May 6th is International No Diet Day! This was established to appreciate the body we have and to take care of it in a healthy manner. Mother’s Day is on May 11th. It’s a day to celebrate all moms, even if your ‘kids’ have paws, wings, scales, or tails! Mom’s do so much for everyone else and generally put themselves last. Do something kind for yourself, self-care is critical! If your Mom is in Heaven, please honor her on this day.
In the U.S. we celebrate Memorial Day on May 26th. It’s a day to celebrate the men and woman who gave their lives for our freedom. It’s also a day to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us.
The topic this month is Family. What do you think of when you hear that word? Some of us have a close, loving family and some, sadly, are not on speaking terms. It can remind us of happy times, but to others it may bring up painful memories. Today’s family is very diverse. Some have no blood relatives but they include great friends. Who’s to say what makes the best family?
China’s strict one-child policy transformed our ‘no kids’ lifestyle into a very happy family with our adopted daughter. We feel so blessed and our ‘baby’ will be going off to college in August! Even marriage in traditional China is changing as partners are looking for loving, supportive and equal spouses. Elderly folks in China are now living in Western type ‘rest homes.’ The family dynamic is changing all over the world. So, what makes a family a family? I believe it doesn’t really matter who the members are in the family. What does matter is having mutual respect, good communications, effective boundaries, spiritual faith, love and a nurturing and safe environment for all.
A family is forever! So whether or not you have family issues, Feng Shui regards the energy of this area of your home as the foundation for your life. It holds the energy of your past including your relationship with family members, loyalty, honesty, spirituality and forgiveness.
Feng Shui principles say to look to your family roots and build upon that strength. This strong foundation provides you with confidence to meet challenges and make good decisions. It also brings peace, love and harmony to all. The Family area represents growth (children), well-being, new opportunities, spiritual growth and abundance. In Feng Shui, the color of the Family area is Green and the element is Wood (think family tree). If it’s out of balance, it can negatively affect relationships or cause physical issues with the feet, gallbladder, liver or throat. This section of the Bagua energy map is located in the left middle side of your home while coming inside through the front door.
Let’s take a look at the Family area and how Feng Shui energy can help you become a conscious co-creator of your life. Remember when using items to create energetic changes, always set an intention for the outcome you want to create!
- Remove clutter so family relationships don’t become stagnant
- Remove any unhappy family photos
- Remove any round shaped items (metal element). This is a Wood element so use square columnar shapes such as pedestals or columns
- Remove any metal items as they symbolize an ax chopping wood
- Add items in green because it holds the vibration of sturdy wood. It’s also the color of hope, nourishment and it promotes a positive attitude
- If you have white walls (metal element) consider painting them any shade of green. If you can’t, then use green as an accent color
- Remove white artwork or collectibles and replace with wooden statues
- If you have a couch or chair here, use green pillows or a throw
- Display happy family photos in rectangle wooden frames and include folks who are like family to you
- Add some family heirlooms and mementos that have special meaning to you
- Place healthy tall plants here or bamboo stalks
- Hang up a painting with a large tree or one with 3 trees which symbolizes family
- Add some items in blue for harmony, friendship, faith and belief.
Now that the Family area feels more balanced, let’s bring in our angelic helpers! You can call upon these Archangels for help with family issues. The Ascended Masters also want to help. They are enlightened beings who were once human and were spiritually transformed. Some well known masters are Jesus, Mother Mary and Buddha. Ascended Masters come from all cultures, religions and civilizations so place a statue of whoever you’d like to assist the family.
- Archangel Michael – helps with patience, courage, love and strength
- Archangel Metatron – helps parents and children with ADD/DHD. He also helps sensitive and spiritual children like Indigos or Crystals
- Archangel Gabriel – helps with any family issue and also creativity
- Archangel Chamuel – helps with tolerance, forgiveness and love
- Archangel Raguel – helps with peace, harmony, forgiveness and resolving conflicts
- Archangel Uriel – helps bring clarity to situations and relationships
While performing Feng Shui energy clearings, I ask Buddha and Quan Yin for assistance. I welcome any other Archangel or Ascended Master who steps forward. When working with life coaching and holistic healing I ask for assistance from Jesus, Mother Mary and AA Raphael. For help with family issues call upon God, Athena, Buddha, Damara, Forseti, Jesus, Mother Mary, Quan Yin or Saint Germain. They will surround you and your family with harmony, fairness, justice, forgiveness, understanding and peace, so please ask them!
To me, family is the most important thing in the world! Boosting the energy of the Family area will help relationships, your social life and allow your family to grow healthy and strong. Please don’t forget Mom on May 11th! She can take the place of others but they cannot ever replace her! My Mom has been in Heaven since November 2003 and I still miss her. She has visited me several times and the angels have sent me signs to let me know she is happy and well. If your mom is not with you, make sure you place a picture of her in this area and light a candle for her. To me, she’s the most important woman in your life!
My life purpose is to help you take inspired action to create your best life! We can work together with life coaching, angelic connections, holistic healing and onsite or virtual Feng Shui consultations. My gorgeous new website is still being rewritten so in the meantime, feel free to visit the current one. Please contact me for Bellesprit reader discounts. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!
