Spiritual Feng Shui – The Feng Shui Garden
It’s July and we are firmly established in summertime – yay! The number ‘7’ in Spiritual Feng Shui is considered a holy number both in the Eastern and Western worlds. It symbolizes the Divine Trinity of ‘3’ and the Earth ‘4.’ In mystical numerology, ‘7’ represents woman, birth and rebirth, the 7 chakras, spirituality, mediation and wisdom. It can also mean luck especially if you hit ‘777’ on a slot machine!
This month in the U.S. we celebrate our independence on July 4. There are fireworks, parades and old-fashioned cook-outs. It’s a great time to uplift and enhance the flow of Chi (energy) though your outdoor space. Using the Bagua energy map, you can easily update your landscaping to bring abundance and blessings to your environment. You can enhance your Spiritual Feng Shui by adding statues of cherubs or guardian angels.
The Feng Shui Garden
Using the Bagua, section your front and back yards into a rectangle. Remove any clutter and dead or dying plants and bushes. A beautiful addition to the entrance of your garden would be an archway or gate. A traditional Chinese Moon Gate is beautiful but not always practical in Western gardens. Gates are symbolic of Heaven and represent a transition from the outer world to the inner private world of a garden sanctuary. An archway can be covered with climbing roses or other flowers. Not only are they lovely to see, they also provide protection. Apply the Bagua colors as in the map shown to flowers, bushes, outdoor furniture, table covers and other outdoor items.
Feng Shui is designed to work with the beauty of nature so incorporate the Five Elements of Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire. Imagine a curved pathway with a stone bench near a Feng Shui garden with yellow flowers in clay pots for the Earth element. Add a water fountain or bird bath for the Water element. This will encourage nature, the best kind of Feng Shui! Use a fire pit, tiki torches or plant red flowers for the Fire element. Wooden furniture and trees will provide the Wood element. Use an angel garden statue, wind chime or white flowers like narcissus for the Metal element and you’ve created a lovely tranquil space. Don’t overdo any one of the elements as they can have a destructive side. When they all work together it brings peace, harmony and splendor to your garden. You now have a beautiful space to meditate or watch the birds and butterflies.
In addition, you’ll want to balance Yin and Yang energy, the complementary opposites. Now that you’ve created a sacred relaxing Spiritual Feng Shui garden space with your seating, statue and water fountain, add a safe play area for the kids and expect some noise! If you have stone benches, incorporate some softer padded chairs. If you have a wind chime depicting the sun, add one depicting the moon. You may want to have part of the garden in the sunlight and a covering over the rest of the space where you can entertain. Yin flower colors of blue, purple and even black are healing. Yang flower colors of orange, red, white and yellow are stimulating. Remember it’s all about balance!
Travel Feng Shui
To me July is the start of the travel season. Kids in the Eastern part of the U.S. are still attending school in June. Here are some great Spiritual Feng Shui travel tips!
- If you’re a nervous traveler, carry grounding stones of Carnelian, Black Obsidian, Black Tourmaline or Hematite for security
- Wear or carry green Jade for protection and good luck
- Bring a small angel/religious statue to make you feel safe
- Ask AA Michael and AA Raphael to travel with you for protection
- Make sure your hotel room is clean & keep it neat for smooth flowing Chi
- If the energy feels off, clap your hands or use an essential oil spray. Bring in the power of the angels to cleanse the space
- Place brochures and trinkets in drawers to keep the room clutter-free
- For better sleep, turn the clock away from you and cover the TV and mirror with towels at night
- Unplug any unused appliances
- To encourage abundance, especially on a business trip, hide a few coins or bills in the far left corner of the room. Set an intention for good business success
- If you’re driving, make sure the car is in good working order. Carry snacks and water, hang an angel or crystal from the rear view mirror with the intention for protection. You can ask the angels to travel with you.
The Angel of July
July’s angel is Verchiel, the Angel of Affection. He encourages us to take time to play and have fun. Call on him to help you notice all the miracles surrounding you every day and express your gratitude. He sounds like a great angel to take on vacation!
