How do you tune into the cycles of life? Do you have things that you like to do as Spring starts each year? What seeds are you planting and which ones are beginning to sprout? It is no secret that once again the cycles of life are turning. We are beginning a new Seasonal Year here in the U.S. Spring time brings us the birth of many things around the Earth. Some of them are literal such as baby animals that are in this natural flow. Some of them are more internal, such as a willingness to release what isn’t working and to embrace fresh new starts. Some of them are physical, such as with Spring Cleaning, and shifting from being closed in during Winter to opening the windows and bringing in fresh air. With or without being coded favorably to Spring, we find internal and external awakenings happening at this time. We are finishing major contemplation spaces and preparing and beginning to action in the world. We begin to socialize more and new life starts appearing all around us through leaves appearing on the trees, beautiful blossoms that emerge, and the Sun offering up warmth to our skin. I have talked about music before, and this time as you begin to reflect deeper into the music you are feeling drawn to right now, it is full of stories and roots that you are connecting to. It shows you the roots you are growing and a piece of your soul that you are longing to both know and share. While Valentine’s Day has the reputation of being about love, it is this time of year that love really comes forth. It begins the desire for connection and the seeking of mates for those that are single and desire to reconnect with those that we are still in a relationship with. This is the time of courtship, flirtation, and the chase. I have been drawn to a huge variety of music but one that doesn’t always get a lot of attention is that of Folk Music. The irony of this is that it is Folk Music which has laid the foundations or roots for many other genres including Celtic, country, pop, rock, and many more. For me, I think I have always connected to it because of the stories of life that it tells. It often times has lyrics that talk about lessons that have been learned, journeys that have been experienced, and observations that are made. Every Spring we are given the chance to set forth a new story for ourselves. We embark on a new tale that is woven moment by moment and step by step. It is the time where we begin interacting with others more and sharing what our life has been like and learning about theirs. To know our stories helps us to know our lives and to decide what we want to write for ourselves. It is also a way of connecting with the different aspects and phases of ourselves. This time of year, we are connecting with our own inner youth such as the maiden or young man. It is when we open ourselves to love and connection more consciously. The time of Spring codes the Divine connection to remember what it is like to have joy flowing through us endlessly. It is a reminder of getting out and enjoying life and being in the world but not of it. What are the stories you share? What is the story you want to tell or live? How do you connect with the inner youth? Views:]]>
