Last month’s article we covered the pentacles suit in the tarot, explaining how it sybolised money matters. This month, I want to explain to you the other meaning of the final suit – health. Now this is where Faulkner Readers differ. This is why we are unique and people come to us from all over the world to answer their questions…we trust our deck that much that we are not afraid to answer often normally avoided questions, such as health. It always amuses me to see tarot associations and certain professional readers dodging certain topics and refusing to answer questions such as health, finances, pregnancy and legal matters. This says to me that they do not have faith or trust in their guides or for that matter – their tool – the tarot deck. Remember Team Faulkner’s’ rule – ask the question, get the answer. We want the tarot to be seen as a modern form of counselling and a tool for self help in life – and we are smashing out the idea that tarot is a dark and scary tool, only used by fortune tellers sat at the end of the pier. If you are channelling properly – then your deck will give you honest, truthful answers to every question. If it’s safe enough to predict some events in life, why can you not trust it for all areas? Surely, a health problem would be one of the most worrying issues a client will come to you with and they would be looking for some reassurance and honesty as to what is ahead and how best to deal with it. So let’s not hide behind reasons such as “My Insurance Company won’t let me talk about that” – as if you had total faith – why would you need a backup plan to cover you if you are wrong? Surely this is about having a belief in your own work…Learn how to work with your guides and use your deck properly – then pride yourself in being able to help people, rather than just an amazing tarot reader…… So, we saw how people chase the money in the suit of pentacles – working really hard to have a good standard of living from the Ace to 10. Now tell me what is the first thing to go when we are too concerned about the material side of life? That’s right – our health. We push ourselves to the limit. Look back at a time in your own life when you had to work really hard to become successful or a time when you had to push yourself to the limit to be able to work to a deadline… how was your health affected? Maybe it was because you stopped eating properly, maybe you didn’t sleep enough, and maybe you experienced anxiety? If you do not take good care of your body and well being, it won’t be long before a serious symptom will show. How will you know if the pentacles are indicating health or money in a reading? A simple rule for you – if it is talking about health – spirit will always give you a sword card directly next to it. Here is a basic rule for you to follow to get the seriousness of an illness. Ace of Pentacles – a beginning of an illness. 2 of Pentacles – A health issue, but not serious. Be aware of what’s happening. 3, 4 of Pentacles – A health issue that needs treatment, but will be sorted. 5, 6 of Pentacles – A health issue that is that is serious, and worrying for the person, but one that can be kept under control and managed, to maintain a good lifestyle. 7, 8 of Pentacles – Serious and will need treatment. 9, 10 of Pentacles – about as serious as it can get. So, only if there is a swords card directly next to the pentacles, do we know that we are talking about a health issue. Read the sword card carefully like this … Ace of Swords – an operation, cut to the body to solve the problem. 2, 3 of Swords – an operation, short stay in hospital but problem will be solved. 4 ,6 of Swords – will take some time to recover but a full recovery is there. 5 of Swords – the treatment is not the right one, look for alternative ways. Operation. 7,8 of Swords – no need to worry, a full recovery will happen. 9, 10 of Swords – Serious problems and major treatment being given. Look to the following cards for an outcome. Please KNOW and TRUST that spirit will NOT put you in a position of delivering devastating news. We are not here to shock, frighten and worry clients. These meanings should only be used to assist people in deciding what route to take and give reassurance of the future. Imagine if someone came to you asking about a serious health issue, that frightened the life out of them just at the thought of it. With your cards, you are able to show them that it is going to be okay and they will make a full recovery. Even if you have to confirm that they will need a big operation, you will be able to show them that life carries on well afterwards. This on its own, could play a big part in their full recovery – eliminating extra stress and worry from them, so they can focus on recovery with a positive mind.
