John Fowler is a very busy man within the paranormal field with his paranormal group The Midnight Watchmen.
By Jim Malliard, The Malliard Report
Let’s get to it.
Jim: Tell me about your group, the Midnight Watchmen?
John: We are a paranormal group located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, founded in 2007. We mostly focus on local Urban Legends, myths, claims of ghosts and reportedly haunted locations in Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. Our first investigation was at the Jennie Wade House Museum in Gettysburg, in which we were featured in a DVD about our experiences there.
Jim: What is your favorite thing about having a group?
John: Honestly I think its meeting all types of people from believers to skeptics and everything in between, as well as helping people to the best of our abilities. I know we do some things different than other groups, and that’s what makes the para world turn, diversity.
Jim: You also have one of my favorite sites on the on the internet, www.paranormaldictionary.com. Give me the back story and tell the readers what they can do to make it better.
John: It started because, like many groups, I wanted us to have a dictionary/glossary of terms on our site. In my travels, I noticed people arguing more than once about the same term. Imagine two people debating their side, when in all likelihood, they are talking about the same thing, just using a different term! That pushed me to include items not usually found on most paranormal sites. Then, one day, I found my exact same definitions and pictures, no less, on another site. So, I racked my brain on how to make ours more user friendly than what it was, since so many copy and paste information for their own site. In my searching, I found that there is a ton of different websites out there that offer definitions, but none have the ability to edit/update them if you see an error, or for that matter, have information on groups, places, events and people within the paranormal. Paranormal Dictionary is free for anyone to use and update, no ads, just information. It’s the Wikipedia of the paranormal.
Jim: You are hosting an event for the second straight year, can you give me the details to share with our readers?
John: Paranormal Journeys will be held on September 20th, 2014 at Boehm’s Church, which is a very historic and haunted church in Blue Bell, PA, from 10 am to 6 pm! The event is designed to bring the public and the paranormal together, offering vendors, local and regional paranormal groups, food, fun, and lectures on various subjects. Public Admission is FREE; tickets for the lectures will be a $5.00 donation. Visit www.midnightwatchmen.com for more information and updates on attendees/lectures.
Jim: Last Question. How can people reach you? Give us your websites etc. and thanks again!
John: Our website, Midnight Watchmen is at www.midnightwatchmen.com. The Paranormal Dictionary can be found at www.paranormaldictionary.com. Paranormal Enlightenment can be found at www.paranormalenlightenment.com.
