Todd Harrington is my guest this month. Todd is the leader of Norwalk Paranormal Research Group.
By Jim Malliard, The Malliard Report
Todd is also one of my longest and most trusted friends within the paranormal field.
Jim: Tell us what got you started into the paranormal?
Todd: In 1991, at the age of 16, I lost my best friend; lost him right next to me. My therapy for myself, and probably survivors guilt, led me to start being curious about the Paranormal. It wasn’t until 1994 where I truly found my beginnings though.
Jim: I know it took a while for you to get to do field work. Is this a good idea, and how so?
Todd: I was given an opportunity at age 18 to become part of a group. Twenty years ago there weren’t many around. I held equipment and was never allowed into a private residence for almost two years while I was being mentored and slowly taught between research methods, Investigative methods, and to me the most important thing, one-on-one conversation and interviews and how to delicately handle clients.
Jim: You have done a lot of investigations. What is something you wish more people knew about paranormal investigations?
Todd: I wish more people would look into and research the history of paranormal investigations. This field didn’t start with a TV show. There are so many researchers from years gone by that have so many useful, wise and helpful techniques. From Charles Dickens to mid-century investigators, there is so much to learn from the pioneers in this field.
Jim: Where in the world, if given the chance to investigate, would you?
Todd: I don’t have any place I would love to investigate. I believe an investigation is the last thing that should be conducted and only as all other possibilities and explanations are exhausted. The respect for souls that were once people has seriously gone downhill in this field. We are supposed to be here to help, not make things worse or disrespectful.
Jim: Where can we find information about your group?
Todd: I am a non-website believer. Thousands of groups have websites for potential clients with their amazing EVP’s and how amazing they are. I’d rather be one-on-one with a client. Saying that, we do lots of historical things and events for our Town. So, you can find us on Facebook at Norwalk Paranormal Research Group, or on Twitter where you can chat with me anytime at NPRGParanormal.
About the Author:
Jim Malliard grew up with the paranormal practically woven into his DNA. When he was as young as 3 years old, he would spend time in cemeteries with his family talking to his friends who where unseen; and to this day, those experiences have left him wondering and fueled his drive to seek out the truth. Jim now lives in northwestern Pennsylvania with his family. He runs Meadville Paranormal and his radio show, The Malliard Report, from there. You can hear his show on Tuesdays at 9 pm Eastern time via the many internet radio networks. Find out more at www.malliard.com.
