The client enters the therapy room and you greet them with a warm smile. You do not see their colour, shape or status. In front of you is a soul in need of healing and empathy. You love your clients. You are a true people person. As a therapist you will encounter all types of people. Short or tall, kind or mean, rich or poor, they come in all colours and shapes. They also have different religions. When healing a client we become one and the same. The purpose of healing is to allow the soul to grow and advance, this is our common aim as healers. Our civilization spends so much time preparing for or recovering from war, simply because of an imagined difference between you. Racial prejudice and sexual discrimination are still prevalent but have no place within the therapy room. Unconditional love and forgiveness are key to healing a person, regardless of their differences. If you find yourself forming judgements about your clients or discriminating against them, take some time out. Re-evaluate your opinions and do some self-healing work. We live, share, work and depend on people. Love them as you would love yourself. If you don’t feel that love, then challenge it. Try these thoughts in your everyday life;
- People are wonderful.
- We are in constant contact with people, so be interested in them.
- Love and encourage people.
- If we love ourselves we will love other people.
- Think of people as brothers and sisters.
- Separateness in others is evidence of separateness in ourselves.
- Friendship is a gift.
