Try this exercise to find self-love. Find a photograph of yourself from a happy time in your life. Concentrate on your image. Think only positive thoughts about yourself. If a negative criticism infiltrates your thoughts stop at once. Examine that thought. Where has it originated? Who do you blame? Who do you need to forgive? What has this scenario taught you? Stay positive throughout this exercise, only finishing when all negative self-beliefs are eliminated. For a better description of selfless love, we can turn to the Bible with Paul’s letter to the Corinthians. LOVE “And now I will show you the most excellent way. If I speak in the tongues of men and angels but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophesy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. “ To receive love is to give love. Honour, respect, support, trust, all of these are key words to meditate on when considering love. Have fun finding what it means to you, clear the decks and let the glow of love fill your heart.]]>
