With all the current changes happening on and around our planet for 2012 and beyond, it is more important than ever to shift our focus to one that supports peace, happiness, completeness and abundance for all, for ourselves as individuals, and for the whole of the planet.
The law of attraction is at work 100% of the time, it never stops, it never judges. It is like a loving energy force that just keeps giving us what we focus on ALL of the time. Literally whatever you focus on you create and bring closer to you into your life. When you think of it in these terms, it is clear what to do if you are not getting the results you want in your life.
Shift Your Focus
Whenever I teach manifesting and abundance courses or have clients who are not getting the results that they want in their life, I ask them how much time they spend each day focusing on the things they really want. I usually get the reply that they think about it for 5-10 minutes every day or every few days, then I ask what they focus on, think about and feel for the other 18 hours they are awake.
Carry out this simple exercise for yourself to see where your focus is. Think of something you have often thought you would really like to have in your life, but it has not yet appeared; it may be material, or it may be more peace or time, a new business or a loving relationship. Now, get a sheet of paper and divide it into two columns. At the top of the first column write, ‘What I really, really want’, at the top of the second column write, ‘What I really, really don’t want’, it might be stress, bills, betrayal, going to your normal job, failure, never having enough time or money. Write below each heading what these are. Under each column write how much time each day you spend focused on each. Underneath each then write how thinking about each makes you feel.
Whatever the results are, this is what you are asking the universe for. The universe responds to our words, thoughts and feelings, so if you spend a lot of your day regularly thinking that you can’t afford something and worrying about money then that is what you will get more of. If you spend a lot of your time waiting for Mr or Mrs Right, then that is what you will get, more waiting.
Listen to what you say to others about these situations as the spoken word manifests things even quicker.
To be the most effective at manifesting what we want, we need to focus on things in a particular way. By imagining that we already have them and how it would feel to already have them, we send this message into the universe and it reflects by bringing these things to us. However we must be careful to avoid creating thoughts or feelings that cancel these positive cosmic orders out. The things we ask for may not always appear in the form we expect, maybe a request for more money might bring a new career opportunity that will bring a bigger salary, or a request for more love may bring more friends into your life.
THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
The best way to create what you really want is to repeatedly FOCUS on it with GRATITUDE, as if you already have it in place in your life; picture it, imagine how it would feel, know you deserve it and then trust and know you have already created it and it is already on its way to you. The universe is constantly responding to our thoughts and feelings, so the more we spend time focused on the positive and in gratitude for what we already have, the more we create things in our lives to be grateful for. If you struggle to find things to be grateful for or you have a very challenging day, then start with simple things like your sight or the health of a part of your body, or the fact you’ve made it through your day. Add one new one each day and you will find that your list will grow bigger and bigger. You will begin to feel more positive in your attitude and mood which will shift your focus. The more time you spend feeling positive and grateful, the more you will attract positive things into your life.
Creating a gratitude book can be a very helpful way to nurture this fantastic new habit. Buy a notebook and call it your gratitude book. Decorate it as you want and each day you can add something new that you are grateful for to your list. As you develop this new habit, you can also begin to add things that you would like to have in your life. By writing them down and being grateful for them, you will bring them into being more quickly.
FOR RESULTS THAT ARE TERRIFIC, BE SPECIFIC
When we repeatedly focus on something we literally bring into being in reality, whether that is something that you want or something that you don’t want. So be careful to only focus on what you DO WANT.
The more specific you are with what you want, the more specific the results will be. If you ask for a new partner who is very loving, you may get this, but they may also be very loving to everyone and not be faithful. So get really specific with the universe when you focus on what you want, EXACTLY!
If it is more money, then focus on how much, what you would use it for, how it would make a difference in your life and how that would feel. Writing down what you would like in your life as if you already have it (i.e. “Thank you for my new car, or the new love in my life, in the highest and best way”) and having pictures of these things in prominent places that you see every day, gives powerful repetitive signs to your subconscious mind and helps to create them more quickly. You can do this by making a collage or just placing a picture or word on display that reminds you of the things you want and how you would feel to have them.
ALWAYS ONLY IN THE HIGHEST AND BEST WAY
Whenever we are focusing on what we want in our lives, it is important to always ask for it in the highest and best way. This means without being at the cost in any way to another. If you ask for lots of money without asking for it in the highest and best way, you may receive it in a way you don’t want, like through an insurance pay out from an injury. When you ask for something in the highest and best way, you allow the universe to bring it to you in creative and unexpected ways. Sometimes our brains can only imagine certain ways of getting things, yet the universe can create anything without the limitations of our thinking.
So to shift your focus and create more of what you want in your life:
•Get specific with what you want to create
•Ask for it in the highest and best way
•Regularly imagine you already have it with all your senses
•Place the words or pictures of what you want somewhere where you see them everyday
•Practise the attitude of gratitude everyday
•Know it is already on its way from the universe.
